i also don't understand why exactly axl would decide not to release album if more songs are leaked.. ?would it be out of spite.. and just to punish the diehards that have been waiting since 1993.. there is too much money involved for him to just decide not release an album because of what goes on on message boards.. then again i know nothing about the industry.. just a fan..

Getting one more leak is not worth losing the album.  We've heard he's doing the album for himself.  He has his album, he doesn't have to release it if he feels he's being taken advantage of.  Oh God, please don't leak anymore

i dont think it is. axl is a pretty powerful guy concerning the gnr name and his material. and we all know he is a volatile artist. it is quite plausible he would pull chinese democracy out of spite. and while id be shocked if this warning was in any way legitimate, i dont think its out of the question for axl to retreat again out of spite.

and it is equally possible that the release date(!) will be affected by leaks (these are just demos/unmastered so they maybe wont have much impact unless they become larger in volume). there have been countless cases (the most recent being the strokes, most notorious metallicas st. anger) of albums being brought forward due to the records being leaked.

but i dont think the power axl wields or the fear of a retreat should strike so deeply. people need to catch a grip. and if axl does retreat then so be it. he would be monumentally (even for him) unfair to his fans who love him and his art to deny us of material we have already made a deep connection with be it in the form of these demos or live bootlegs. and i guess we'd then just have to wait till he dies before hearing the stuff. but the point is, people (either the management or the fans) shouldnt be such crybabies over the leaks of a few unmastered tunes.

If leaks make Axl mad, than I'm sorry, but the album should've been out a while ago.  I can understand someone's want and need to try and make the best possible product for his fans but it's been what, 13 years now?...I think that's enough time.

As for the leaks, though I do disagree with them, I do find them a little reward for all of us who have been teased, lied to, and have been more than patient with all involved.  If you want to punish someone, find out who leaked the songs online, but don't punish the innocent people who just grabbed the raining money when they saw it falling from the sky.

I think the leakers should call their bluff. Leak all material that is in circulation thats from GNR 1994-2006. Even if its instrumentals. Tommy and Dizzy have been saying soon and hairs breadth away for years. Lets give them what they want.
