GNR Video
«
on:

Do you guys think that GNR will make a Video to help promote this album?? Will they need to?
I'm not too sure that they even really need to.? I mean do video's even serve a purpous now a day's?? It's not like it used to be, I rarely even see video's on TV anymore.? Would this be something that the band does before the release of CD or after?? ? ?
What do you guys think?

Dizzy confirmed a while ago that they were planning to do videos once the album is out.

It's that they need to make a video to promote the album but I think we can al agree Axl never does things for promotional reasons. If he does it it will be for creative reasons, because it adds something to the song. The Estranged video, for example, Axl wanted to do to complete the video trilogy and because it added meaning the song. There was no promotional reason to spend that much money making a video which was hardly ever played.

You mustn't be from England because on telly we sometimes get Guns N Roses Days.
Of course they need music video to promite singles as well.

No, I'm from the USA and all that's on MTV or VH1 are reality shows. It's stupid!

i was thinking of this very question last night. i think they will do a few videos for promotions sake but I wonder if they will be "art" video type things or performance videos?
I hope a little of both but who knows!!!
Do bands usually make videos after the singles come out or what?

I'm sure Axl loves to make videos, just look at those super productions GNR made, I have read (cause I don't have it) that in those "makin' fucking videos", I think the stranged one Slash says something about Axl is obsessed with videos turning it onto looooong movies.
They won vma's... Axl will do another epic video for sure !!!
Edit: Now I was thinkin' ... someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Didn't Axl, or somebody closer to the band, I don't remember?
or there was a goosip after Rio '01 sayin' Axl and the band was on Asia to film the first video... I don't remember.
I mean, is possible they had old footage for a video since CD seems to close to be release back in those days.

Call me crazy but I liked the simple viseo's for SCOM, PC and WTTJ far more than the productions of UYI

they'll definitely do videos, and i bet a lot of attention is payed to them. Axls the only bandmember a lot of people will know, so how they present themselves will be important...
was Since I Don't Have You the last video Axl was in? i think it's funny that in the last shot from that video where he's underwater he's got a goatee and he's wearing a jersey.

From Blabbermouth 2002:
According to blabbermouth.net, Guns 'N' Roses were reportedly in Shanghai,
China last week filming the video for the first single off their long-awaited
album, Chinese Democracy. The video is believed to be for the song "Catcher In
The Rye", which is rumored to be airing on radio at the end of November.
Chinese Democracy will reportedly contain 18 tracks, including three of the
four new songs showcased during the band's recent live performances:
"Madagascar", "Chinese Democracy" and "The Blues". The latter song is also said
to have been tentatively tapped as the album's second single, to be released
sometime in early 2003.
No official release date has yet been announced for Chinese Democracy, but
unconfirmed reports suggest that December 3rd or 10th are being discussed as
the most likely possibilities, with the European release set to take place one
day earlier.
