Sounded like it was going to be part of a countdown show at 9 as well. Presumably where listeners vote for it.

I guarantee you they would/will be more pissed about Better. IRS has been out in the public for almost a year now.

93x has a "Cage Match" where they play new songs ..The DJ said I.R.S. demo will be playing on there tonight also. ?I don't know if they have permission.. but a theory (we all love theories about GnR) ?Minnesota may seem like the middle of fricking nowhere to alot of you, but the Headquarters of Best Buy, Target, some of the biggest retailers in the world are located here. ?If the genie is already out of the bottle, maybe they figure 93x is as good a place as any to give it some airplay... Just a thought...

They don't have to stop playing it until they are alerted to stop playing it.

You have to alert them to wrongdoing before you can be punative with them.  So, until they get a cease and desist, I think they're pretty much in the clear.

Now, that being said.....the stations playing it have big brass balls, that's for sure.

OK, I know..no lyrics.  But..at 2:40-ish...is he really saying "working on my fucking record for so long"?

Really?

OK, well it's worth pointing out here that 93X is owned by a media conglomerte and owns like 9 other radio stations in minnesota and basically has a monopoly in the radio market.  The parent company is Disney (any relation to Geffen?).

when I lived there 4 years ago, a friend who was ddoing an internship said that they get their weekly playlist on a big laserdisc type thing and that all the songs are prescheduled, etc.

not sure if that has changed with internet/satellite, but I would think that for 93x to play this they must have cleareance or a directive from somewhere

just my $0.02

93x played new Tool off of Lateralus early before they got a cease and desist order.. so they have experience in doing this...

I live in MPLS...
I never listen to the radio anymore, but I'm fairly surprised 93X would be playing this as a demo they got from the internet.

Wouldn't it be nice if this SPED UP the process, and Universal/Geffen rushed a promo CD out for the first single off the new CD (which probably isn't IRS) to capitalize on the buzz and get the "demo-quality" IRS recording off the radio? Either that, or just give radio the final version if IRS?
Geffen must love to buzz, but hate that people are making judgements on a song that probably isn't going to be a single, and is still in demo form. A majority of mainstream people might think this is as good as the stuff will sound (sonically speaking), and we know that can't be true
