BLS is so fuckin' heavy, they are one of my favourite bands. I like this music much more than Ozzy's latest records. Zakk is the man!

Is the new album better than Alcohol Fuelled Brewtality?  I like that but it drags after the first few songs.  I don't like Zakk's vocals on it either.  Stick to lead Zakk!

the new album "Mafia" is really good, but I can't decide if I like it better than "Blessed Hell Ride" . the song  In This River really cool.

Just got Mafia last night. Black (Sabbath) Label Soceity continues to impress. Where as "Hangover Music...."  was ballad heavy, yet still awesome, in my opinion, "Mafia" is flat out kick ass rock n roll. Zakk continuously puts out the music that I hoped Black Sabbath would when they reunited. I've only listened to Mafia once so far so I dont have any favorite songs yet, although "Dr. Octavia" was an impressive guitar solo that I wouldnt have minded being a bit longer. From beginning to end this is just a solid album closing out on a high note with "Dirt on the Grave". Out of all his projects "Pride & Glory", his solo album and now BLS, this might just be Zakks best release to date.

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY mainman Zakk Wylde recently answered a few questions for Argus Leader, South Dakota's largest newspaper. The question-and-answer session follows:

Q: You and Dimebag Darrell ? the former PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN guitarist who was murdered on stage last year ? were very close. Was it tough to pick up your guitar after hearing about his death?

Zakk Wylde: "Yeah. Definitely, for a couple days. I was like, (expletive) this. I talked to him two weeks before it all went down. He got me this guitar, it's like one of his new ones, one of the Razorbacks. The last thing I said to him was, 'I love you so much bro.' He said, 'I love you too.' The way I look at it, he's in God's tavern, and he's keeping the beer cold until we all get there. Because God knows there won't be any Crown left."

Q: Any kind of Dimebag tribute worked into your show?

Zakk Wylde: "Yeah, totally ? 'In This River' every night."

Q: Is there any guitarist you'd be afraid to go up against in a riff battle?

Zakk Wylde: "No. I love all of them. I'm a huge fan of anyone who's (expletive) awesome. Anyone who takes the time out to be great, you've got to love them."

Q: You're a pretty big guy, how much do you bench press?

Zakk Wylde: "Usually ... about 375 pounds. Calf raises, 1,400 pounds. Leg presses, 700-800 pounds."

On what would have happened had he actually joined GUNS N' ROSES in 1995:

Zakk Wylde: "I think it would be what you're hearing now (with GNR offshoot VELVET REVOLVER). The stuff we would have been playing would have been slammin'. Look at VELVET REVOLVER, how awesome that album is."

According to a post at ZakkWylde.com, PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer "Vinnie Paul sat in with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY one more time over the weekend in Dallas, Texas. This was the first time Vinnie has been back behind the drums in front of his hometown crowd since the tragedy. The crowd went absolutely NUTS when he stepped up behind drummer Craig Nunemacher's kit to perform 'Suicide Messiah' with the guys. An extremely long chant of 'Dimebag... Dimebag... Dimebag' went on for nearly five minutes. It was great to see our brother Vinnie smiling as he punded away on the skins. The show was sold out as majority of the tour has been. Prior to this show, Vinnie stepped up with the band in Orlando, Florida and in front of a sold out crowd of 8,000 in Boston. The band was kicking ass and taking names as usual. Some of the songs included 'Fire It Up', 'Spoke In The Wheel', 'In This River', 'Stoned n Drunk', 'Stillborn' and more. The band has just under two weeks left on this leg of the tour before it wraps up in Hollywood, California on May 5."
