I happen to REALLY like Robin's solo. It's very "classic" sounding. Very out of the ordinary...

FYI, who cares if Paul is playing or not. ?And actually, who knows. ?Fact is the song is too raw to truly appreciate. ?I am sure Paul is a nice guy, but there is a reason he is gone. ?The solo kicks ass. ?That is why I am interested in who is really playing lead. ?If it is the Bucket, that is bad news. ?If it is Fink or Fortus? ?Great news!!

Quote from Axl:
"Paul helped us a lot in the writing and the recording of this record and to me was a vital part of not only the band but also my life. The world tour really wasn't his cup of tea whereas he's much more comfortable in a studio setting"

Great questions. ?Maybe Paul is a great song writer? ?Paul was a yes man for Axl. ?Plain and simple. ?He did what Axl said. ?He probably wrote some cool stuff, but a great guitar player he is not.

I started this thread to discuss the lead guitar (namely the solo) because it rocks.
Buckethead playing it is bad news because he is currently out of the band. When I see a band live, I would like to see the guys involved play it atleast live one time. Now we get so see someone else screw up this solo, just like when Fink would butcher Slash.
Paul was not playing lead, so I don't care if he is strumming some bar chords you can't even hear.

Yeah, it's got quite an aggressive riff in places.
Robin is really going to show off the work of his career very soon i think

Can someone please tell me what the differences between this new version and the older version are, besides the better sound quality?

Thanks Dave. What does the intro sound like? Different from the rest of the song?
