I certainly wouldn't the songs having a more consistent and fast tempo like Sucker Train Blues.

So they are going to 'dive in and find the monkey' now  hihi

So Matt "I thought I was joining a rock n roll band" Sorum doesn't mind experimenting and going outside rock n roll afterall? I hope Sorum won't be bringing out a piano or any other instrument that scares him and goes outside the 'meat and potatos' stuff  Cheesy

Chill dude!  VR is not HIS poroject,  they are the BAND!
He never said it was his decision,  he just said what is happening with VR at the moment.
What if Scott,  Duff or Slash announced this,  would you assume it is their decision!?

the guys don't know what to do, concept album, danceable music...no vision.

now i understand why Axl left the guys. HE had the vision.

i like Slash & Duff but...i feel a bit sorry for them.
and i suppose when CD will come out...they'll feel sorry too for themselves.

I would call Rocket Queen and Mr Brownstone danceable, hopefully they come up with something along those lines
i agree, thats what came to mind when I read "danceable"

people alos fail to see they rwally want to grrove it out.....knowing there history....I take that to mean more along the lines of playing likey they did aka Appetite for Destruction

Then loose the drummer since he hasn't got much groove IMO

Please save this 'Axl had a vision' bullshit for fanboys who think it's OK that 10 years weren't enough for him to materialize the vision.

BTW I welcome more groove. Both Snakepit incarnations were much more groovy than VR and I liked those albums better.

Lets be honest at that time period he thought he was joining AFD gnr, that's why he commented that way..

I really don't like the sound of this. It sounds like a very bad idea. The last thing they need to do is to latch onto some trend to try and blend in more. I don't mind a bit more "groove" in the album but I really hate Matt's "it's not rock and roll" quote.  no

on the topic of michael jackson, hes a fucking musical genious with more talent in his little finger than anyone now in GNR besides Axl.

He HAD a lot of talent but now he is just a traveling circus sideshow. He hasn't done anything interesting musically in a very long time.

What I seriously can't understand is why all of you are taking this little announcement by Sorum seriously.  I think it's obvious he is just being a smartass...which is nothing new for him.  It's old hat for bands to make silly statements about the direction of their next album to throw off the press, and pull everyone's leg.  Hell, I don't believe Weiland when he says it's going to be a concept album.  He's the same guy that said Shangri la dee da was going to be called "Holiday at the Infirmary" and include a song called "Laser Vaginal Rejuvination."

I think the man is now a waste of life but that's because of his kid issues, but you hear what you are saying.. Have MJ have a few songs leak like the new gnr tunes and see all his flock drool over the music saying how MJ is all this and that etc.. The way people are reacting here is the same that would be there.... To peole who love someone they can do no wrong or their songs can't be bad

I thought the reason that VR formed in the first place was because they just wanted to make "real" rock music.  Now they're trying to make dance songs?  Weiland should tread carefully, this can't be sitting too well with Duff, Slash, or Sorum

Axl didn't LEAVE them, they left him. Besides, Izzy wrote most of their old material, he was the musical vision even if Axl was in control of band persona. Think Axl has vision? Then why has he been unable to release a single album of original material since Izzy quit about 15 years ago!?

Ohhhhh yeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!
Try that in Axl section, ?maybe someone buys it.
Axl's vision - 0 records in 13 years.
What is he!?
A blind man??
Try adding how much albums Slash, Matt, ?Duff, ?Gilby and Izzy made in that time.
Axl's vision is great. ? Sit home watch dvd's for 13 years.
Kind like Di Caprio in 'Aviator'.

I don't know what exactly they mean by DANCE music... I am just going to wait and see... Nowadays everyone takes each word as god, who knows what is going to happen.. I think scott weilands knows his shit and he just has many different visions. Anyone that was into stp can see he can rock his ass off, but also has a softer side as well..
