Women: Probably Marilyn Monroe. She just was the epitome of innocence versus provocation dicotomy that so many have tried to replicate to no avail; she's just someone I'd imagine a man would want to sexually posess yet protect simultaneously. Also, Anita Pallenburg (actress, ex-girlfriend of Brian Jones, Keith Richards) had that sort of wide-eyed stark beauty in many of the photos I've seen of her. Gisele Bundchen, the Brazilian Victoria's Secret model, is also so lovely it hurts. Adriana Lima, of lingerie fame herself, too, is gorgeous beyond belief. But how can you choose? A lot of beauty is relative. For example, I think Kate Hudson in "Almost Famous" was startlingly lovely, but a lot of that was the part she played and the emotions that elicited. Mischa Barton, that someone else mentioned, is truely gorgeous, but I think a lot of people are charmed by the character she portrays on The O.C. Personality does have a lot to do with it. But I'm still going with Marilyn.
