The Dillinger Escape Plan

What's the new CD like?

Miss Machine is great, it's their best album by far. Now that they've included some easier songs in the mix, the album works better as a whole. Calculating Infinity was sometimes a bit hard swallow 'cause they went 1000 mph all the time.. Good stuff, and it came with a bonus DVD of live material.

I haven't listened to these guys in well over a year. Very surprised to find someone here who has heard of them. I've heard some really great things about this album, mainly being more varied and melodic than previous releases. Looks like this will be added to my ever expanding "to buy" list.

Anyone heard of a band called Porcupine Tree? Didn't think so. But lately I've been really into them. I listened to In Absentia and Stupid Dream once, and ever since I've been playing them back to back.

To describe Porcupine Tree is kind of hard. It's.. music. In its purest form. It has some progish elements, and is quite popular among prog fans, but it's in no way a typical representation of the genre. Some of the songs rock, but most of it is really relaxed and emotive. It's not background music though, the production is great and the music really grasps you. It's just not very loud, y'know.

Guns N' Roses-I am and always will be obsessed with this band, lol
Skid Row- Fuckin' awesome,Sebastian Bach is a great singer. i have their debut, and Slave to the grind
Velvet Revolver- Saw them live, pretty good debut album, huge supporter
Aerosmith-Pump is great
Taking Back Sunday- WAIT!! before u make any assumptions, i have to say that they are actually a pretty decent band, with meaningful lyrics, and they are not posers like Good Charlotte or New Found Glory,  They also have lyrics i can relate to right now...

Mars Volta are great. Downloaded 6 or 7 songs of their last album. They are one the the best bands to come out over the past couple of years.

Also Snow Patrol are quite good.
