According to what I understand it is not Cult but few guys from different bands and majority from Cult. 
However,  they mentioned 6 songs EP and no word of a tour.
I doubt,  Matt is too deep in VR.

the cult is also touring.
but the drummer and bassist is unsure...

I saw the line-up the other day and Matt wasn't the drummer.  Can't remember who it was though..

The Cult's new drummer is used to play with Helmet I think, can't remember his name though.

The other band you're talking about is Circus Diablo, which is a band featuring Billy Duffy, Billy Morrison and Ricky Warwick. Matt played drums on their songs they're recording but that's as far as his involvement goes. Check out the website www.circusdiablo.com
