Braces

My wisdom teeth are coming in, and they itch like hell.  I too, have braces, so I don't know if removing the wisdom teeth is a possibility.

I can't remember why, but if you wait they are harder to get out. All four of mine required oral surgery and a week on the couch afterwards.

ArgH!  Scary.

I just re-started wearing my retainer and GOD DAMN it HURTS!!  Your teeth feel like they are being slowly pulled (Which, is actually whats happening) but damn, it hurts.  My advice:  Where it from the start no matter the pain.  It is worth it!!!

I wore mine, then quit. Then started again, (it hurt just like you said) and finally I lost them.

I had oral surgery on MLK day to remove a tooth that wasn't coming out and was under the gumline, so they took 'em out.? Good Lord, that anesthesia was strong, I was knocked out.? I was stumbling around like a drunk.? I felt stiff, but when I moved I felt as light as a bird.? Had to eat smashed taters for 2 weeks, and I couldn't do anything with my right arm, still can't.? (don't get the wrong idea boys and girls)

 

I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled a few years ago. The after effects were the worst. And I wasn't given any kind of pain medication, just antibiotics.

Well my gums wouldn't quit bleeding, so as a result I kept choking on the blood and throwing up. Pretty sick, eh? It was a miserable day. My oral surgeon pissed me off before the surgery. He stuck me with a needle and then asked if it hurt. I said, "yeah". He said, "well you're going to have a hard time in life, young lady."

On my last surgery I had two nurses that were tying me down to this chair. It was almost like seatbelts around my arms. I asked them (right before I got knocked out) why they did that. They told me that people would get knocked out and then slide off the chair. So they would strap them down.

I laughed and said "This is the only situation I can think of where my wife would allow me to go down the hall with two women and let them tie me up." Them laughing was the last thing I remember before I came out of surgery.

They strapped me in too, and the last thing I remember was asking the doc, is the needle in?  He said yeah, and off I went.  AND phew, I thought drama_qween was mad at me, I almost wet my pants.  Wouldn't it suck to wake up in the middle of surgery?

im getiin mine put on in 2-3 months.
All these posts about "painful times" are makin me fell much better...
Is it really hard to kiss with them on?

They don't hurt badly, it's more uncomfortable at times.

Yeah.   I once had a boyfriend who had braces the same time as me.  All of the people who sit there and say "you will get stuck" LOAD.....OF....CRAP. 

My Mum used to work at an Orthadontist (people who fix braces) and she said that you cannot get stuck from normal kissing.

That's why Im glad Ive never had braces then...normal kissing is only fun for like the first few days....

A peck on the lips can never compare to a passionate game of tongue hockey...

I mean like some kind of crazy African mouth sucking kissing... that might have serious issues with the braces.
