I just saw Annie Hall and it made me think of this thread.  Brilliant film, by the way.  Sad though..

love belongs in films, most relentionships are more fashion accesories now!

That's kinda interesting.  The first part I disagree with but the second part is probably true.  There's definately a lot of that around but then there's also a lot of uninteresting, shallow people around - it ain't a coincidence.  It reminds me of a fucking awful song one of my housemates plays all the time:

"Nineteen, you're only nineteen for God's sakes, ooohhhh you don't need a boyfriend"

Duuuuuuuuude, I literally just finished watching that movie myself..

I think it's interesting you interpreted it as a sad film, when I kind of found the ending relatable in a way since he found the girl of his dreams, and she essentially just left him..

Yeah, but he spent the entire film pushing her away and only realised how great she was right at the end.? He only got with her because she was good looking and immediately wanted to change her.? The more mature she got, the more they argued, because he wanted someone weak and submissive.

And when he told her he loved her he didn't even mean it!? He was all "yeah y'know, i more than love you, I lurve you, y'know, I loath you y'know".? It's pretty pessimistic.


And dude - that's pretty wierd!? Did you watch it on Film4?? I LOVE Film4.

Great movie.  I love when he asks the happy couple on the street why they're so happy - "We're very shallow and empty and have no ideas and nothing interesting to say."

One year anniversary coming up for me and my girlfriend. Pretty tight relationship, haven't had any struggles or anything yet. I'm sure the bumps will come, but as it appears we're going good.

Aww, I don't believe that! 

My boyfriend and I have been together just about 9 months now.  It's hard because we live 200 miles apart right now and has a job that requires him to be transferred every few years but we do the best we can with that.  Other than the distance issue things have been pretty great!
