Well personally I think taking out all the original members while only leaving the singer.. is pretty much making it not GN'R... but if I HADDDDDDD to...

Vocals:Axl
Guitars: Robin and Richard
Bass: Tommy
Drums: Brain
Keyboards: Dizzy and Chris

but that just wouldn't be GN'R right?? hihi. heh. jk...

I agree that just a lead singer doesn't make the band but, first of all Axl does have rights to the name hence whatever band backs him will be Guns N' Roses.? Cry Second, there's a history of bands who replace the lead singer and (in my opinion) they suck~ examples: Van Halen, Motley Crue, J. Geils Band, Iron Maiden, Skid Row, Black Sabbath~ Need I go on?? (Velvet Revolver~ Sorry had to slip that one in there)

So, you think Matt over Steven? Does anyone else think it is wrong how Steven got kicked out for drugs when the rest obviously had addictions? I think Steven would bring back the AFD magic.
But you are right. Guns isn't Guns without the "regular" lineup.

The rest managed to get their lifes back on track...Steven obviously hasn't. So the only thing he brings back is the junky beginning...

Wasn't the junky beginning the best?? Huh? I'm not saying I support the crap Steven does. And yes the others have managed to get their lives back on track, but jeez~ what crap music we're stuck with in the meantime! I am not a promoter of drugs, but when you hear bands like the Beatles and how Guns sounded f$%#ed up it kind of makes you wonder...

Don't you think that you need somebody?

« Reply #29 on: April 27, 2006, 02:06:30 AM »

Axl on lead vocals
Dizzy on piano/keyboards (but limited, like on UYI he's on about five songs per cd)
Duff McKagan on bass (but he is forbidden to sing!)
Izzy Stradlin -rhythm guitar and backing vocals
Jerry Cantrell -lead and rhythm guitars, backing vocals, and occasional lead vocals
Buckethead -lead guitar solos
Josh Freese -drums

Axl should just go solo, and do records with different guest musicians on each song.
