I'm guilty of liking this group. I think I saw them open up one of the MTV award shows and thought they had good energy. I like all of "From Under The Cork Tree" but my favorite song is probably "Chicago Is So Two Years Ago" from "Take This To Your Grave"

They are kinda catchy, but like *Izzy* says "aah been dyeeen" and the like puts me off bands. Sometimes a band are only as good as their singer.

they're a solid band, the first album was much better than the last tho. it seems like once they switched to a major label they changed their sound to be more mainstream and poppy and accesible with glossy production etc...

In the song, Sugar, We're Going Down, it sounds like he's saying "drop a whore".
I think they're a fun band, regardless of the enunciations.

I first heard about this band from watching The OC, as they are one of Seth Cohen's favorite bands, and low and behold, wiithin a few weeks their first big single, Sugar were Goin' down.. was on all the major modern/classic rock stations. Taking a chance, I purchased "From Under the Cork Tree" and was at first really impressed with the album, but now I find I have too be in a certain mood for a poppy carefree record or I wont enjoy it at all. My friend says their first album isn't as well known but has better tracks on it so maybe Ill give that a chance..
Right now my favorite tracks are...
Of all the Gin Joints in the World, Sugar, were Goin' Down, Ive got a Dark Alley and a Back Alley that says you should Shut Your Mouth, & XO

Virtually without exception you can tell how good a band is by how 'good' the band's name is - Fall out Boy is a stupid name, and the music sucks.

I have to admit that the name is strange. But that rule doesn't always apply. Take the Foo Fighters for example, that's a strange name for a band, but they're still great.

The Foo Fighters are bland, thats the only word that accuratley describes them

Well music is like taste buds, it's subjective. I don't think the Foo Fighters are bland at all. But different strokes and all that...
