But the driving istructions are great, "Turn to local roads". You just can't get lost with such great instructions, and it's easy to help out, "You
DID
turn to local roads, didn't you? Okay, you ain't lost then"
This one is great, also

I have this Disney t-shirt with Donald Duck on it, and he's got this embarrassed expression on his face and the shirt says, "Suddenly, Donald realized he never wears pants!" So, I wore this shirt outside one day, and this person mentioned to me that Donald Duck comics were once banned in Finland, because he never wears pants. I thought that seemed a little odd, so I decided to research it and I came across this website:
http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/finland.htm
Well, it wasn't entirely true, but still pretty funny.

) but anyways, stupid as we are we couldn't come up with the capital... So what is it?
(and don't laugh at me dammit, I know it but the name just escapes me, at least I know where finland is on a map!

You need to ask the people who live there.
Here's something: The Finnish primeminister's father seems to be a racist. I remember reading something about that.... He had written something about certain people being less intelligent than the rest. It was about races.....

Any scandals or controversies?
None at the moment, but I just saw Nick Cave live in Helsinki! He's playing three gigs here in a row, which is pretty nice.
And yeah, what Jarmo said about the prime minister's father is true. He's put out studies and literature about blacks being less intelligent than white and asian people, but I think he just managed to make a laughing-stock of himself.

That's pretty weird about the prime minister. Is there a large black population in Finland? I'm guessing...not

What is it with you and Finland dude???
A recent poll revelaed that only Albanians hate Russians more than Finns!
Shit, Finland always comes as 2nd.
The poll revealed that 62% of the Finns are very or somewhat suspicious towards Russia and Russians.
Our President Tarja Halonen responded to the poll somewhere along the lines "Eh, we're finns, we hate everyone"
Russia delivered few diplomatic kicks in the nuts of Finland about the matter. Mainly because Finns haven't been very active in supporting Russia's? attempts to increase co-operation between Russia and EU.
Our Foreign Minister, Erkki Tuomioja(Who is
THE SHIT
btw. Most our politicians suck ass but Erkki is,indeed, the shit.)commented pretty harshly on Russians actions in Cheznya, which also pissed Russians Off.
It would be much nicer to piss Russians off if we didn't have 1200 Kms of common borderline with those fuckers..

Don't worry, one Finn on a pair of skis with a rifle and winter camouflage is worth ten Russians!
...oh wait, that was actually the old generation - we suck!

Finns Consume Over 10 Litres Pure Alcohol
"Per capita consumption of pure alcohol will total 10.3 litres this year, writes the newspaper Kaleva.
This is the first time the 10 litre limit has been exceeded. A report issued by the National R&D Centre for Health and Welfare examined regional consumption after the alcohol tax cut.
Last year, Finns consumed 9.4 litres of alcohol. This year's figures represent a 15 percent rise.
Researcher Esa ?sterberg believes the increase is significant, and predicts that next year the consumption of pure alcohol will rise even further to 10.8 litres per person.
However, ?sterberg is not surprised by the outcome of the survey, and other European Union countries also exceed the 10-litre mark, such as Ireland and France. In fact, France consumed nearly 20 litres per capita in the 1950's - a fact which prompts ?sterberg to say that there is always a maximum limit, even for Finns.
An increase in the popularity of hard spirits has reduced sales of beers in both Alko stores and other shops."
