what does he mean by''Some of the arrangements are kind of like Queen''.

Operatic orchestrations-think "The Prophet Song" from Queen's 'Night at the Opera' which included some weird harmonizing and use of bizzare instrumentation. That's my guess.

I don't think Izzy would be playing Buckethead's lead parts--if anything he would be contributing to the writing, and fine tuning process at this point.  I would not imagine Izzy playing at all on this project, but if they talked, I am sure he listened to a few of the tunes and made his thoughts known.

Who knows, Axl may have been just screwing with the reporter when he said that.

I agree-I doubt Izzy would be back in guns in any real capacity....part of the reason he left was because he didnt like the limelight and the road-and he's been pretty damn consistent about that even after guns. but it would be crazy if he gave axl some thoughts on the album!

I don't know if this was already mentioned, but I was encouraged when he mentioned some of the songs sound kinda like Queen (or something like that).? I'd much rather have an old-school rock sounding album than something like Oh My God.

Yeah, this kinda struck me as intersting b/c we know Roy Thomas Baker, who was Queen's producer and produced the new Darkness CD was attached to CD at one time, and perhaps some of his influence possibly carried over even after his departure.

Also, don't forget that Brian May helped out as well, i think

i think u are teh only one who doesnt want to see the original Guns N' Roses on this entire site so u should shut the hell up

I think your a rude punk who should take his own advise and "shut the hell up."? There are a bunch of people who wouldn't care for a reunion. The music wouldn't be the same, the bands passion wouldn't be the same, it would just be a fucking throwback to a once great era. I love the old band as much as anyone but whats done is done. If you want a reunion, then great. But next time try expressing your opinion like an grown mature adult.. not some 9 year old.
Jack, the music it'll be much better, and regarding passion I'd like to see these new young kids when they go face to face with the real thing in a live show. in my opinion what's done it can be done once again.

Right, not to mention Queen's overall influence on Axl.

keep in mind Axl said "The Blues" was one of HIS favorites, didnt say it was one of the best on the album.

I love that fuckin song however and think its one of the best GNR songs ever, so Im glad its gonna make the CD.

I got chill bumps and am absolutely shivering readin that.

This wait has been awesome, anyone else gonna be kinda sad when the waiting ends?

Shaq and Kobe end their feud yesterday, now Axl ends his supposed feud with Slash.

I agree, he wanted Slash to be a rock God and Slash allowed himself to be more of a "Celebrity"

The really exciting thing is we don't even know if Axl is referring to the same version of the Blues that most of us love... he might have improved the sh1t out of that song in the last 3 years... which is just mind-blowing to think about... drool

I don't knwow if I'll be sad, but it'll be weird. ?I really liked the comparision someone made with Red Sox fans earlier. ?When the Sox finally won the Series they seemed to kinda lose their identity. ?They'd been defined as resilient and lovable losers for so long. ?Hopefully we as GN'R fans don't lose our identity. ?I really can't even picture this place with threads about an actual CD instead of threads about how we don't have Chinese Democracy.

It'll be surreal, alright.

However, he hints that you could see the current incarnation of Gn'R back out on the road soon. "Every time there's a big festival announced, we get rumored to be on there," he says. "But we'll see what happens

Does this mean that Axl reads the internet?

He visits this sight, I know it!!!!!!! ok

I can't wait, hopefully CD will be out and good or bad, we'll know if they wait has been worth it. I've been waiting on this album almost 8 years now and I still think I just got into the band.........So, it's been a while for everyone. Let's go Axl!

I'm really hoping Madagascar hasn't been dropped. I'm sure that mustve been one of Axl's favs back in '02 cos they played it at every show and even chose to perform it at the VMA's, he doesn't list it as a fav here though.
Buckethead was all over that song though, maybe he's dropped it in favour for newer songs.

Great news!
But I wonder why he's now talking nicely about Izzy & Co after all the bad things he said about them on the 2002 tour (and the Illusions tour about izzy)

Maybe he's realized how stupid this whole feud between them had become?  After all they had gone through together, there's no way they could possibly hate each other as much as it sometimes seemed.

The time is right, eh?  He said during the 2002 mini-tour overseas that the "timing felt right" and that he was going to disappoint his naysayers in one swoop.

That was three 1/2 years ago and he disappointed his fans instead, and he's done it too many times for me to trust him.

When I see the damn CD in stores, I'll believe Axl.  Until then, nothing he says means shit.
u have a point but it still is something we need to watch cus u never know

uhhhh of course we will watch it... usually when he says something like that its hard to ignore it.
