yes I did!  I was also impressed with the sound quality at the Fonda.  And Billy Duffy just wailed on his guitar  Cool

Ian didnt really have to get the crowd up, we were a great crowd  Smiley  At the start of the show, he called out LA area codes and asked us where we were from.  Pretty savvy for a Brit!

Fire Woman got the biggest response, even Brother Wolf, Sister Moon got a decent response.  I had never heard Wonderland before, and he said it was about Danny Sugerman and told us to Google him if we didnt know him.  I think everyone on this forum knows who he is.

At the Vegas show Ian was trying to get the crowd riled up and dropped this great quote: "Come on. This aint no fucking Velvet Revolver show" hihi

heh heh.  Scott better not call him a fraud!

I'm kidding.  I'm going to stay away from the GNR board right now  nervous

Yeah Sonic Temple is a great CD.

What have you heard of theirs? Maybe I can point you in the direction of a few gems.

They are doing a tour of Europe from July through September, if youget the chance dont miss them. Ian still sounds great and the new drummer and bass player kick ass.

I believe The Witch was only on their "Pure Cult" cd. It was a single in 1992 and Ian included it on his solo cd "Sirit/Light/Speed"

From whats left I would suggest "Beyond Good & Evil" , "The Cult", "Ceremony", and "Dreamtime" in that order.

I've only seen them live this year, and Ian had a bad back so he couldn't move around much. He was forced to concentrate on the vocals and sounded awesome. I have heard the same complaints from other people, though.

I did see him with the Doors last year and he sounded great than as well. Maybe he just learned how to sing live. There have been many singers who would party abit too much before gigs and sounded like shit because of it. All their shows(The Cult) were recorded and released immediately after the show by Instant Live. Ians vocals have been spot on throughout the whole tour, so far, this year.

has anyone heard the original version of electric the album, the mix they didnt like so they redid it with rick rubin and had a stripped down sound?

the original versions so good, its what they woulds have done if they had have kept the style of the "love" album

You're speaking of the "Peace" album, produced by Steve Brown who helmed "Love".? It's a must have for the diehard Cult fan.

Some more Cult news, they're headed into the studio for pre-production in February with "many" dates to follow throughout the year.

Thats good news. The band they have in suport of Ian and Billy right now is really good. John Tempesta on drums was awesome when I saw them last year.

I went to see Factory Girl at the Arclight  (ok movie).

I didnt know who Edie Sedgwick was, so I always assumed the Cult's song was about some old girlfriend of Astbury's - kinda like SCOM.

Anyway, after the movie, someone was playing the song over by Amoeba Records which is right next door to the Arclight. And I finally understood the 'Ciao, baby' line.

If Ian is into that kind of woman, god help him.  She was really complicated  nervous

When I saw them in San Diego, after they played Edie, Ian said "If the producers of Factory Girl were smart, they might want to use that"

I haven't seen it so I wasn't sure what he was talking about.

Great line though

Don't you know paradise takes time?
