I once heard from somewhere, that GN'R's cover was Dylan's favorite cover of KOHD,

Id be interested to know where he said that, because Ive never heard Dylan publically say anthing about Gn'R's cover of KOHD.

It might have been on these boards. I really don't recall. I just know I read it or heard it somewhere. I wish I had a link to show you, but I don't.

and about this "why do you play axl`s song?": didn`t axl say something about that at one of the `02 concerts?

Yes, Axl talked about meeting a girl who asked him " Why is Paul McCartney doing your song?" Must have made him laugh
