Somehow the math doesn't add up.? Magazines usually come out a month in advance.? What I mean is you usually get the March issue in Feb. etc.? So if the interview w/ Axl is at the end of Feb.? I don't see how that works.?

He didn't say it was the March issue he said it was the Spring/Summer issue coming out in March

Its gotta be fake, The reasons people say that it was an "old friend" who told them the rumor ?is because it makes it easier to back out and say "well fuck, I didnt say it, im just the messenger" when nothing happens. Just attention seeking idiots

A quote from the linked thread ....

Hi. I normally do not post on message boards, but after lurking around here for a bit

Starts like an abduction retelling. "I know this is gonna sound crazy, but..."

a photographer is still being negotiated on.

Ross Halfin might be available.? hihi

hmmm  Huh  Lets think about it..  Zack, frontman of a successfull, and cool rock band, but all his bandmates left him and formed another cool and successfull rock band with a cool frontman from one of the best grungebands, and Axl, frontman of a successfull, and cool rock band, but all his bandmates left him and formed another cool and successfull rock band with a cool frontman from one of the best grungebands...  and they are both ready to release a album on their own for the first time..? At least they have something in common, right?

Yes, it would.. If Rage Against The Machine still were together.

But I could see a GN'R/Audioslave tour, that would be great.

Come on.? After waiting this long to release CD, there's no way in hell Axl will be sharing the spotlight with anyone.? Why would he?? It's not like RATM got anywhere near the level of Guns anyway.

I don't care much for RATM, but they were HUGE in the 90s, and broke up at their peak (similar to GnR). Both singers have promised new CDs for a long time and failed to deliver.
I have no reason to think it's real, but it's certainly not an improble scenerio.
I don't think Axl would have an issue being shot on the same cover with another big name rock talent like Zach.

I think it's very plausible, at least for ZDLR. Can't forget to keep that agenda-pushin' going on, can we, Rolling Stone?

One quick thing to point out.

This post was made BEFORE the Korn release party / pictures.  So, I would say on Jan 12th it would have been alot less likely for Axl to show up in a photo shoot anytime soon then it would on Jan 13th --> Forward.

Doesn't lend any credence to the rumor, just brings up that its not like someone said "Ooh, Axl pics are out - let me run with that and create something good!"

Wait-the hacks and flacks (managers/public relations) for each artist is going to agree to a joint cover? Axl is going to co-announce on the same cover with someone else after all this time? I don't see it like that. MAYBE they would have two different covers, but not BOTH Axl and Zack on the same cover.

Editorially speaking, most magazines work in a three month window. Ergo, RS is working on their April issue right now.
And the way good gossip spreads around Wenner Media, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a little weight to this rumor. Loose lips-sell Magazines!

And a photog? Something of this caliber would have to be Mark Seilger.
