Hi. I normally do not post on message boards, but after lurking around here for a bit , I thought this may be of interest to most of you on this board. I am involved in marketing, and at a recent company party I attended I ran into a girl I went to college with but have not seen in almost six years. Anyway, we got to talking and she works as an editorial assistant over at Rolling Stone magazine. During conversation the topic of what "projects" were ahead for us in the New Year came up. She told me that Rolling Stone magazine had just booked Zack de la Rocha AND Axl Rose to appear together on the cover of their "Spring/Summer" preview issue, which will be coming out in March. It is an annual issue Rolling Stone does, and they usually jam pack it with interviews, previews, teasers, etc.
Being a big fan of Zack/Rage Against The Machine, I was very excited to hear this news and asked her some questions. She said she did not know any specifics, but both long awaited albums from Zack and Axl's new version of his band are set for an early summer release and that there will be a 1-2 page story on each singer talking about their albums. She said that Zack will be interviewed first sometime in the next few weeks, and Axl was going to be interviewed sometime in the middle of February. She said a photo shoot (Zack and Axl will be shot together) is scheduled for the end of February in Los Angeles but a photographer is still being negotiated on. She was and still is a huge music fan, so it was great to talk to her about some of the music out these days. Anyway, just thought this may be of interest to some of you on here. Can't wait to hear Zack's new album! And that Axl album may be an interesting listen too! Cheese!

Although I can't see it happening(because zack and axl have thing sin common with a new release,it makes me think this is fake)but it would be very cool if it did actually happen,and I would buy more than one copy of it,as that would mean a release is on the way.

i mean whether it happens or not, this is nothing new.  axl gave rs an interview and preview tracks in 99 along with the release of omg on the end of days soundtrack, so fast foward 7 years = rs interview, song on movie soundtrack.  still no CD.

It could  be legit esp since Axl is the side note in this and its more about Zack.

maybe but i doubt it...Axl being the sidenote makes me think even more its fake. any1 could have gone on that board and typed that story. Axl being the sidenote doesnt add much to it in terms of legitimacy. And its funny how its always running into a friend. the only thing that sounds kinda legit is the photographer search...but who knows...

what i know is that if the album is coming out by spring we will get news sometime in feb or march...

Come on.  After waiting this long to release CD, there's no way in hell Axl will be sharing the spotlight with anyone.  Why would he?  It's not like RATM got anywhere near the level of Guns anyway.

I don't know and don't really care if it is true or not.? However, the only reason Axl comes across as a sidenote, is because the person who wrote this is a bigger fan of Zack.? If it's true, Rolling Stone won't make Axl a sidenote.

Interesting find, Saul. But I dont believe it. Here's why. Every time some small tidbit of info about Axl comes out, or even just a fucking pic, people start spreading rumours very similar to the one you just posted. Remember when IRS leaked? Right after that, someone saw Axl at a restaurant and told them when CD was coming out, someone seen him playing cards in Vegas, and someone seen him at the theater. If IRS hadnt leaked and brought the freaks out, none of the above stories would have even surfaced. I'm not saying a RS cover cant happen. Obviously it will happen when CD is on the horizon. But the timing of this rumour proves that its fake.

WOW...a few pics come out and the news/rumors seems to pour in.  As much as I love seeing Axl back out there, I want to HEAR something about an album on the horizon.  I just don't buy this rumor, but if I see Axl on Rolling Stone again I'll probably go crazy.

Somehow the math doesn't add up.  Magazines usually come out a month in advance.  What I mean is you usually get the March issue in Feb. etc.  So if the interview w/ Axl is at the end of Feb.  I don't see how that works.  Though, Rolling Stone puts out a mag every two weeks.  The idea is great.  A classic all time cover for RS possibly.  At this time I will believe just about anything.  Lets face it we are getting desperate.

Well, I can't say if it will happen or not - noone of us can.

But I think, these two people together on a cover is not a nonsense concept. For many people in the late twenties, Guns N' Roses and RATM are connected in the memories as the music of the early nineties, the milestones of the soundtrack of their youth - I myself belong to these people.

And both haven't been heard for a few years. So a "REVENGE OF THE OLD STARS"-concept () is not so unrealistic.

sounds like a good idea to me, and feasible from the standpoint that they both have been working on albums a long time and have been somewhat reclusive.

Im not quite sure of the reasoning people seem to have applied in terms of Axl being a "side note". I think in context, that is only in the view of the person who allegedly got the gossip. ie. the person who has written this on a forum is a big Zack fan and not so jazzed about Axl

I'm not going to sit here and say yes or BS either way I will know when the issue comes out... I also don't want just some cover like they do with mags every so often that has no new info inside..

We need braides jersey axl with a interview involving the band situation, where cd is, and honestly when the fuck it's coming out, also tours, vids. singles!

Enough beating around the bush talking to people who know jack squat....
