You Wanted TheBest,Well TheyDidn't Fuckin' Make It

« on: January 09, 2006, 08:55:49 PM »

i watch the second bulgarian national TV programme (bTV) here in Bulgaria, where i live, and see somethin' very interesting today!
the promoter of the summer festival , the mayor of the city of Kavarna - Tzonko Tzonev was in some kind of top 10 of the bulgarians for the year 2005. the programme begins with what he did in 2005, well he brings a lot of rock stars like deep purple, scorpions, etc. in Bulgaria, and he told the people, that his dream maybe will come true this year, cuz he love to see here his favorite band AC/DC.that will be great, but anywayz... what catch my atention was that i see a photo of some kind of the official poster of Monsters of Rock in Bulgaria, that says : AC/DC, Metallica &...Guns N Roses!!! i donkt know nothin' but some kind of rumour . for this edition of the festival in our country, the promoter's negotiated with a big name from US, but they cannot say for now nothing more.well we can only pray, you know ...but why not GNR? i can't see any of this posters with GNR ot them anywhere in the streets, or somethin, theres no even an official web site for this event, but i'm sure that soon it will be at least one! and i can tell you some more info, when i hear, watch or read somethin more!
these are some? of the official bands on the festival which starts on the 3th of august and ends the 6th of august 2006:
Slipknot
Soulfly
Motorhead
Judas Priest
Whitesnake
Deff Leppard
Ministry and many others...
i think theres still a negotiations with AC/DC and Metallica, i hope for GNR too!? beer
 peace

I'd put my money on AC/DC. hihi

And I thought this was about the Monsters Of Rock Festival we used to have in the UK but is being resurrected and is allegedly going to be held in Milton Keynes. peace

I believe that these websites list GNR just to garner a little publicity.

not to be a dick. . .

but, people are always saying "to get a little publicity".

GN'R only are only important to the few thousand of us still care.

Serious announcements get attention, but fleeting comments like that don't mean shit to anyone but us.

Us "few thousand" also check out those websites hoping for the smallest inkling of GNR news therefore increasing their hit rate.  Not only that, but don't you notice when these rumors come up, that it gets in the online press as well as certain magazines like Revolver, etc?  It helps their cause, trust me.

No, in other countries they're still popular to the point of absurdity.

Didn't they win favorite rock band of Sweden or somewhere like that in 2004?

It's definitely for publicity.

GN'R's name has also been on posters for shows in Lisbon, Hungary and one club show in Georgia. Lisbon was the only one they planned on playing....

But they showed that one on a national TV and the program was about successful people. It wasn't a comercial or something...

Great, really. Making people believe they will have great bands, but only a closer look reveals the tribute bands.
What do you think? How many people will go there cause they saw the poster from across the street, just to witness a huge letdown?

Yeah I went to that concert since it's only a couple of miles from my home, that guns coverband was actually pretty good peace, their "slash" impressed me he's a good guitarist you should take a look at the video of one of their concerts on the site.

that pic is just........wrong.... I prefer coverbands over tributebands........ Tribute bands try to dress the same and it just look funny rather then cool.....it takes away from the credibility which is a shame... Only the originals can dress like that without looking weird....
