I'm hoping for more fast tempo rockers like Sucker Train Blues and less grungy songs and very average songs like Big Machine, Illegial i Song and Spectacle.

I'm hoping for some arty-type songs, like "Locomotive."

 yes

And don't forget about Snakepit's Serial Killer! An album with this type of songs would be perfect!

Naw this sounds like this new album is Scott's baby.  He had the chance to use some of the Izzy stuff on the first album and didnt he wont share the vocals this time either.

Yeah that could happen, over scott's dead body that is. It seems like scott's really in control in the band. I would do anything to just hear those instrumental tracks that they did drool with Izzy

About VR going to the studio, I doubt it... but Id like VR next album to be more serious... something darker... even if it doesnt go with their images.

I think Duff mentioned in his last update that he'd like to go into the studio Feb-March, but I don't think they're in there yet.

It's funny how there were all these plans for VR to have all these releases to their fans - live recordings of shows, DVD's, and all we got was several releases of Contraband, a couple of singles and nothing else.

I agree. the promised "extra stuff" proved to be really minor.
At this point I don't see a reason to release a DVD which only has songs of Contraband, they should definitely wait until Libertad (or whatever it proves out to be) and then after touring the summer release a DVD somewhere betweem August and October, which would ofcourse include songs from both albums and possible covers. Maybe even a Live album? Just not yet. Patience would be precious.

Oh Extremes I just love extremes!!!!!

liberty
?
SYLLABICATION: lib?er?ty
PRONUNCIATION:? ?lbr-t
NOUN: Inflected forms: pl. lib?er?ties
1a. The condition of being free from restriction or control. b. The right and power to act, believe, or express oneself in a manner of one's own choosing. c. The condition of being physically and legally free from confinement, servitude, or forced labor. See synonyms at freedom. 2. Freedom from unjust or undue governmental control. 3. A right or immunity to engage in certain actions without control or interference: the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights. 4a. A breach or overstepping of propriety or social convention. Often used in the plural. b. A statement, attitude, or action not warranted by conditions or actualities: a historical novel that takes liberties with chronology. c. An unwarranted risk; a chance: took foolish liberties on the ski slopes. 5. A period, usually short, during which a sailor is authorized to go ashore.?
IDIOM: at liberty 1. Not in confinement or under constraint; free. 2. Not employed, occupied, or in use.?
ETYMOLOGY: Middle English liberte, from Old French, from Latin lberts, from lber, free. See leudh- in Appendix I.?

The Philosophical Concept of Liberty
Liberty has found philosophical expression in individualism and anarchism (an extreme form of individualism) and in nationalism. Such philosophers as John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau popularized the conception of the individual as having certain natural rights that could not be denied or taken away by society or by any external authority, rights that Thomas Jefferson spoke of in the Declaration of Independence as ?unalienable? and that were embodied in the Bill of Rights of the Constitution. Rousseau especially thought of them as the rights possessed by people living in a ?state of nature? and not surrendered, only modified, in the social contract by which they agreed to live together in society.

Considering there are only two musicians in VR that were involved in the two Snakepit albums (Matt on pt1 and Slash on both), I don't think we'll get that.

to tell u the truth i would ilke to hear the new music have that grip and attitude of old GNR. not new age or 90's sisy grundge stuff. i realy thing that the band needs to be rock n roll not grundge. it needs to be realy real.. not quickly thrown to gether and easy. it needs to be intricat like Mr. brownstone, great song to play cause its up to beat its got amazing guitar and its just rock n roll. music like 90's grundge is realy easy, made by people that realy arent real musicans. it just needs to lean more twords rock n roll.
