Communist doctrine does advocate the violent overthrow of the government/system through  a worker's revolution - so I think it is justifed to keep an eye on anyone who advocates destroying the US.  I find it funny that Catholics are advocating communist ideals when the church has taken an official stand against communism.  You can disagree with your hierarchy in the protestant religions, but Catholics have to accept the word of the Pope or they're not a catholic, they become episcopalion.
