It seems as though a few of the big name bands are looking to release new albums next year, here's a few that I'm really looking forward to:

AC/DC
Audioslave
Godsmack
Jerry Cantrell (this one has been a long time coming!)
Metallica
Motley Crue
Pearl Jam
Screaming Jets
Tool
Velvet Revolver

And of course Chinese Democracy, if 2006 is the year...

Can't say i'm looking forward to any bands new release, as each year passes I find i look further and further back for quality. Bands like ac/dc, Metallica and Motley Crue are never going to make music that matched what they once did.

Well Metallica still keep me interested in the fact that they don't do what everyone expects them too, and I've still enjoyed the albums they've put over the last few years.
AC/DC seem to be taking their time on this new album, so maybe we'll get some good quality AC/DC rock again, and Motley Crue are back working on an album with the original line-up, so it'll be interesting to see what they put out too.

I hope the band dig deep into their creativity, I'm one of the few Motley Crue fans who really liked the directions they took on their 1994 self-titled effort and Generation Swine.

Yeah, there haven't been any recent updates from him, but I've read over the last year that he's working on some new music which is said to be his best ever.
I thought Degradation Trip was great too.

the one Im looking the most forward to is RHCP's Stadium Arcadium. which will be out probably around April, with a follow up in early 2007 from the same studio sessions.

and of course Velvet Revolvers new album. also the Panic Channel, who sounds very promising.
I also hope Pearl Jam's, AC/DC's and Metallica's new efforts are worth listening to.

Looking forward to the new RHCP. As for NIN, I heard the follow-up to "With Teeth" will come out much sooner, 2006 would be great.

Motley and Aerosmith are two bands that should never make another compilation as long as they remain a band.
