2007 AND 2011 HTGTH Fantasy Football Champ!

« on: December 18, 2005, 01:40:49 PM »

Hello,

I was just doing some housecleaning with dl'd GNR stuff.  Can I get a consensus on:

1) Is the Keep on Rising demo really GNR?  Old, new, fake?

2) Is Your Looks are Gone really Axl's voice? (if you think IRS has bad sound quality, this thing makes IRS look like studio-quality.  Smiley )

3) Is Just Another Sunday Axl as well?  New, Old, or In-between GNR?

Thanks guys and gals.   beer

PS  The My Favorite Pillow and instrumental of TWAT are some memorable hoaxes.  I hope the above are legitimate.  Keep on Rising would be my bet for a hoax.  I'll be curious to hear back.  peace

1) Keep on rising: Fake
2) Your looks are gone: Yes, Hollywood Rose-era Axl
3) Yes, a demo from circa 89-90

Just Another Sunday is prior to Appetite For Destruction, somewhere between 84-86.
i got it on a demo with songs from Appetite, and songs written in that period that were latter used on UYI, like "the garden" or "bad obsession".
plus, the quality is really bad (you can still hear a bit of "bring it back home" on the back, so it's was obviously taped with a bad tape recorder), and in 89-90 they should've had better equipment - the demos that are around from that time show it (mates rehearsal)

Are you sure? Because Axl's voice sounds more like 89-90.

It's my understanding that Just another Sunday was recorded after Appetite, but before Lies.  A drum machine/pre-recorded track was used, possible indicating Axl alone on this one.

hahahaha, oh god I remember when Keep on Rising came out.  So many fools on gnronline were claiming it was 'Axl's best work to date.'  I will never forget that.  I wonder if those same people still love that song more than any other GNR song.  Idiots.
