i don't think it would matter one way or another what it is called, it's still the "forthcoming" GnR album, the long awaited followup to the UYI records

I don't think that'd be wise at this point (changing the name in any way).  The name "Chinese Democracy" is already legendary and even people outside of the music industry know it.  If the album comes out under a different name I could see hundreds of people saying "but what about that 'Chinese Democracy' album he promised for 100 years?"  I think they'd lose money changing the name.

CD should stick.  I'd rather hear '"Chinese Democracy" finally has a release date' rather than "the new GN'R album is coming out."

If they want to change something then change the name of THE SONG "Chinese Democracy", not the album title.
Even better: don't even include that song on the album. Save some space on the album to include a better song instead.

Well, that could happen.. I actually have s feeling that chinese democracy was the working title at the time
who know.. would be great if they keep the name, but what should they call the next tour... Chinese Democracy tour VOL 2

I wouldn't be suprised if the name is different... We just use the name were know and that was said.. On one hand it has a lot of publicity wether good or bad... On the other hand it's an extra challenge... SOmeone buys it and says THIS is chinese d., was it worth the wait???

I am at such a point with this that I don't think about it much anymore.. I really have my doubts it will evr happen.. ANything is possible but i tend to think it may not happen..

I think he will keep the name. The album has had such notority, he would be foolish not to exploit it.

I find that i'm far more powerful and effective when i can celebrate another's way, rather than to wish to own it.

How about Chinese Demo? Then if people hate it, he can just say calmly "Och, it's just a demo my friend"

They should name it "Smell the Glove". Then, the cover should be a naked woman on her hands & knees, with a dog collar & leash, smelling a glove that someone is holding in front of her nose. Brilliant!

like many have said it would be dumb to change it now.  anything that gets the name out there to the public like this has is a good thing for them and they need all of that they can get!

I would hope he would still name the album Chinese Democracy.  Even though the name has gathered more negative press rather than positive press, it's still press.  Or rename it Better Late than Never. Grin

This is a good question. However, I think Axl "HAS TO" keep the title "Chinese Democracy".  It has a lot of value because it has been talked about in the media already like "Smile" or "Lifehouse". If he were to rename the album, every interviewer would ask "What about Chinese Democracy?" and Axl would have to respond "Well, it is the same music just a new title?". Interviewer "So, will you ever release an album name Chinese Democracy?" It is too confusing . . .
