It would be the first gnr disk with a song as the title...

2000 intensions is ok..

I heard Chinese Democracy won't be on Chinese Democracy. Just like The Doors didn't put Waiting For The Sun on the same titled album.

From the live versions I've heard of the (maybe) title song, I wouldn't mind if it wasn't included. I don't think its one of the best guitar riffs I've ever heard. Of the new 'rockers', I prefer Oh My God.

I actually agree.
Chinese Democracy already has such a negative backlash to it - no need to shoot yourself in the foot right off the bat.
Change the name.
New band, new songs, new album title.

He could have just kept it simple:
How bout: GnR

And then first album title something related to the old band or his current situation.
Moving On
or
A New Era
Dedicated To Those I Love
Set Free

Those are sort of gay, but you get the drift. Something subtly related to the rest of the band leaving.

NO FUCKING WAY.
The title of this album and the hype about it is the best and one of their strongest publicity tactics to make a big comeback.

I think the title should stay too because as others have said the title itself will compell people to pick it up and want to hear the 'mythical' CD. As for the song 'Chinese Democracy', I hope that does appear on the album as well as 'The Blues' and 'Madagascar', sure Axl probably has got songs that will blow those 3 away but they are favourites among fans now and we deserve to hear studio versions! I love those 3 songs. I'm sure Axl did say in an interview though that all the new songs they performed live are the ones they weren't planning using as singles.
I just wish Axl had the same confidence in this album that us fans have cos it does seem as though he keeps putting it off due to fear of people disliking it, all that time out of the spotlight is bound to affect your self confidence though I guess. I've said it before, the CD tour and the release of 'Oh My God' were simply to test the water, to see how the fans and media take to the new GNR, maybe it didn't go down as well as Axl wanted and that is why he is scared. He's trying to create the perfect album that everyone WILL like and I don't think it's possible, no matter how perfect the album is people will always hate.

I think he named it 'chinese democracy' back in 1998. But i've been waiting for it since 1994. Still waiting. Axl should have released an album back in early 95 or 96. It would have heightened his legacy. I will always think GNR not doing a kick ass followup to the'Use Your Illusion' albums as one of the great tragedies of rock.

They're about to.  Wink

Do you think the new album should be called Chinese Democracy, if the song Chinese Democracy is also released it could create confusion. Do you have any alternative names for the album or anything to say about the name?? ok

Chinese Democracy is a good name - both for the album and song.

I don't think people will get confused between an album and song of the same name. I think it is too late to change the name anyway - people are expecting "Chinese Democracy". People are familiar with the title as well - they associate it with GNR and Axl Rose.

All the talk of Chinese democracy over the last 5/6 years can only be good in the long run. You know what they say - any publicity is good publicity. They would lose some of that with a different title IMO.

It wouldn't be a surprise to me if it was changed....Axl had the tour and it failed. So start from a fresh page, new look, new record, forget the past.

A lot of albums have the same name as some track on the album. It's nothin' new. Bonjovi's Keep The Faith, Dire Straits Sultans of Swing, Metallica's Master of Puppets, to name a few... Chinese Democracy is a great name. Axl hopefully will stick with it ok

I know it's not new, but it is for Gn'R. I still think it might create a small bit of confusion? Undecided

I think Chinese Democracy is fine. Dont complain cause god forbid someone comes on this board that actually knows Axl and brings this to his attention and fills his head with doubts about that title. Then we're stuck for about 2 more yrs while he sits their with the finished product thinking of a great title for the album. LOL

I think a great title for this album is ITS ABOUT FUCKIN' TIME  peace
