Chronicles of Narnia

I just saw "The Lion the Which and the Wardrobe" and loved it. Anyway, does anyone know if there are plans to make films of all seven books? Also, what did people think of the series?

I read The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe in school. I remember liking it. However, I didn't know it was part of a series until this year.
I'm sure if this movie does really well, they'll make more of them.

Its a dead cert
I read all the books about 14 years ago - might be time to read them again....
They are of varying quality - The Lion the witch and the wardrobe is without doubt the best of the books, some of the others are 'curious' reads to say the least - and it doesn't help that they have almost a totally different set of characters in each book
In the final book three of the kids from TLTWATW are killed in a train crash - even years later such a dubious ending has left me scratching my head!
I plan to see the film on Wednesday, its a shame i can't really remember the book too well (hey, 14 years!) - is the film accurate to the book?
I must say i don't remember huge battles in the book! (They appeared in Prince Caspian if i remember right)

Aye, I would guess the film is pretty similar to the book, but I'm not seeing it until tommorow.
I read the books about...10 years ago I guess. Something like that. Maybe a little less, actually.
Now, I can't remember them all to well, but I do know that there was a big battle in the book. But it takes up about a page or two, unlike the LOTR epics.

Not a huge LOTR fan. It's ok, but it just sort of bored me.

Saw it yesterday and liked it.
The male actors all sucked, but the little girl and the witch were great. Oh boy that witch...
Loved the animals, well done in this one, very good.
Why wasn't there movies like this when I was like...8 years old?

I think I read all but 'The Last Battle'... but it's been so long. My favorite in the series, is probably,
'The Magician's Nephew'
- man, how I loved that story! And there was the book in which the children crossed over to the Narnia lands from a painting of a ship on the wall...my memory is fading.
I hope this movie will be good! It could never beat the strength of imagination one possesses as a kid though.

Everyone seems to have read the book - but no one seems to remember it anymore - its the Witch at work!

Indeed. I bought all the books the other day - they aren't very long, i'm amazed such a vibrant world could be creted in the readers mind with so few pages to inspire! Shows a talent. In effect the books are the opposite to Tolkien's style - both on the same subject matter, but one author describes every blade of grass and gets the story to a zillion + pages, the other lets the reader fill in the gaps - and i prefer Lewis's approach.

How does Tolkien "let you fill in the gaps?" what are the gaps in TLOTR?

Lewis lets you fill in the gaps. Did you even read what he wrote?
