you'd think players would notice refs are tougher in this world cup whether they like it or not and simply stop the shirt pulling, handballs, diving, and tackles from behind.

its not just the refs that are out of control. the players in that holland portugal game are also to blame.

Half those ''fouls'' wouldn't raise an eyebrow in the Premiership, either the refs are in the pay of the Mafia or FIFA issues directives that all Refs play stoned

portugal-holland was dead on. great game, not in the football played, but exciting as hell. especially being portuguese!
Maniche is back in top form. finally scolari is using that whole midfield that mourinho put together in Porto - Costinha. Deco, Maniche - that conquered the uefa cup and champions league in 2 years.
next game against england is gonna be in gelsenkirchen, the same stadium where most of this players won the champions league 2 years ago.

too bad the referee wasn't good. too many yellow cards, the red card to deco was unfair, i mean, he kept the ball in his hands for 2 or 3 seconds, and waht about cocu? not even a yellow there two?
Figo should have been given a red card too, but the whole game would've been different if the referee showed the red on the 7th minute to Boulahrouz for the fault on Cristiano Ronaldo. that was an agression.
We suffered a lot, and the game was well owned due to whole aspect of the game. after playing with 10 or 9 we couldn't play football anymore. we were lucky on that cocu strike on the post too.

No you got it wrong that thing about "cojudo que habla huevadas" wasn't for him I know that, the second sentence was for him but was supposed to be different from the first sentence but not as an insult to him. Anyway I think Dead Horse was misunderstood.

Anyway Jarmo you are right goals aren't deserve are ment to be done, Perhaps England tried a lot and the only thing they did was that free kick and stop counting. Ecuador played equaly to them and we have great chances but thats old history, now everything is based in what if. 

Holland - Portugal oh God what the hell! that was a battlefield and I thought that war will be Argentina Vs Germany.

FIFA may get slightly more money, because the official merchandise sales continue being very strong as long as a team stays in the world cup, and of course most merchandise is sold in Germany right now.
But I don?t think that influences the referees in any way. All teams have been told that FIFA set new guidelines for the referees this WC, some players are just too stupid/too used to their league, so they get many yellow/red cards.
A few teams have shown that you can play according to the guidlines very well (Brazil, Germany, England, Spain, ...)

...that never should've existed if the holland players had fair play and had given the ball back to portugal, since Deco was headed for the goal when the referee interruped the game so Ricardo Carvalho could be assited.

The refereeing at this World Cup has been disgraceful.

Italy shouldn't have been down to 10 men tonight, that really wasn't a straght red card.

And that penalty decision was another disgrace. He pretty much ran over and fell over Neill.

I cannot believe how bad the refereeing has been right throughout this tournament.
