Hi, I heard from Izzy yesterday, their are still plenty of copies available so it isnt too late to order  ok

Fanmail/Q&A with Izzy isn't a possibility at the minute. Maybe one day in the future, dont think he has recovered from the last time he made a fanmail address lol  Roll Eyes

I GOT IT!!

Thanks nyd  Smiley

Chop Away is my favorite song so far.  And I love Bomb, and Rollin On.

I have to say, it really hit me how much Izzy contributed to VR.  This album has that written all over it.

I recently discovered that 'Hammerhead'  is great when you're stuck in traffic.  When he sings, 'here we go - DRIVE!', you can pretend you're racing down an open road into the sunset instead of crawling on the freeway at 5 mph.  Izzy's got some cool vocal melodies throughout the album.

I sent my money order off on Monday, so should take a couple of weeks by the time I get my CD back to Australia! I can't wait! I am really looking forward to this!

Do you like the CD?  Grin

I know your question wasnt directed to me  Grin

If you liked Contraband, you'll like this album too.  But 'Like A Dog' has better production/mixing/etc than CB, imo.  The vocals arent so muddy.  It's not a mind-blowing album, but there's some good tracks.

I'm wondering if Izzy didnt release it because it would be too obvious that he contributed to Contraband....?

He wrote with the band when they were originally forming, before Scott joined I believe? Huh?

So maybe some of his ideas ended up sticking with Slash, Duff and Matt and being on the album.. I don't know. But he didn't actually play on the album.

I'm really keen to hear this album now after your reply. Others have said it sounds like CB too. I really liked the clip from Hammerhead.

No ideas of Izzy are on Contraband. The 10 songs Izzy did with VR where actually recorded in a profesional recording studio down the block from the rehearsel space right before the vocalist audition of Kelly Shaefer. He had to wait a few hours when he flew in to audition cause the others where recording.

Scott also said that he wasn't inspired by Izzy's stuff, it sounded to classic rock for him..

And imo Like A Dog sounds nothing like Contraband and it beats Contraband in every way. LAD is the real return of rock n roll..

and Yes I agree LAD is way way better than Contraband. A real underrated album.

Scott wasn't inspired by Izzy?  What were the lyrics too coherent for him?
