Also, I like Mysteron's little parentheses when referring to Universal's release list .. the (not at this time) thing or whatever.

I do my best not to be a conspiracy theorist, but you have to admit, this entire situation does hold at least some promise.

Ive gone back and forth on the release theory.

Think of the media attention and buzz it would create if Chinese Democracy just appeared on the shelf?

this is a mythical,folk legend type album by now so to release it with conventional methods wouldnt serve it justice.

Imagine the news reports and MTV reports and just the whole captivating chaotic type rush to record stores it would cause.

it would enhance impulse shopping by 100 percent the intensity.

Im thinkin it would be a great idea.

The record industry is too caught up in releasing a single/video then the CD a month or two later.

Do it this way, First week sales will still be awesome from word of mouth alone and then get out the single/video later in the week.

This CD will break records when it comes out without a doubt.

It doesnt need promotion at first, i say if they just put it on the shelf without a single or anything it would go platinum in a week.

U know as soon as it hits the shelves, the radio will be playing the fuck out of it, so why a single to begin with?

GNR are innovative and a new release strategy is needed cause the way now has grown so fuckin stale and repetitive.

If Axl does this he will be a genius and 50 years from now on music countdown shows, this will be a significant event.
