I think everyone needs to calm down, this is not like Universal or Sanctuary has issued a press release about the actual release date. I mean, I pre-ordered the Las Vegas DVD on Amazon Japan and it got pulled out the actual day of the supposed release...without any real explanation. That was in December 2001.

This could be the record company pressuring Axl. We all know how bad they want to release it. Im kinda surprised they havent tried this years ago. There just going to keep pressuring Axl until they get their money back or make a profit.

Do I believe this is the real deal? no. But the situation is fascinating nonetheless-THE major online retailer in the world lists something new from GnR since what? Early November ( when GH2 rumor surfaced)---doesnt pull it down even after  repeated denials of its existence by the label and management, then it turns into 'Chinese Democracy"--it's bizzare. My guess is by monday, it will be taken down, and we'll all get emails saying that aour preorder is cancelled...but it's nice to have a little frenzy now and then!

Oh, and these are DEFINITELY different listings, as the Amazon sales rank is obviously drastically different between the two of them.

I'm not sure HOW this error occurred (if it is some sort of Error on Amazon's part) - but it looks like two different database entries for two different items.  The closeness of the ASIN#s is a bit odd, I will admit.

The 2025 is the 20th, with the 25 being 2005 without the zeros.

I don't think there's much sense in trying to read into it anymore-or to check it every 10 minutes---as I've said a few times, this'll probably be resolved next week- i.e. the page will be taken down entirely---no sense in obssesing, unless this goes on for a few more weeks.....

Yep, definitely looks like "Chinese Democracy" is now called 'Welcome to the Jungle" - well at least the Amazon link that referred to CD is now WTTJ.  I just checked with a different browser - there is no longer a listing for "Chinese Democracy" on Amazon.

But there is a WTTJ best of that's at #495 in the sales ranking

edit: Jeez, disregard, its listed as Chinese Democracy again.. whacked.

Chinese Democracy will be a 2-disc cd set with one disc being heavier than the other.

It will be released on December 20th, 2005.

Axl had a deadline and will meet it.

I don't think he will name a date. But he will probably hand the finished product to Universal, who are gonna put it on their release schedule. It hasn't happened yet. Chinese Democracy is their biggest release of the decade. They won't release it without promotion (even rushed promotion). As I said many times here, when CD is ready to be released and has an actual release date set in stone, believe me, the whole world will know about it. Not just us, desperately looking at amazon.com for a hint of a release date. It will be publicized in India, China, Italy, Germany, the UK, Indonesia, France, Argentina, Iceland, the US, Canada, Ireland, etc. This is gonna be a worldwide event. Not some database glitch (done on purpose or not) on amazon.com.
