Chinese Democracy listing on Amazon

My current boss used to work at Amazon and I asked about the process of records getting listed. Here is what I was told, in summary:

Apparently the distributor for this CD would have notified Amazon of the existence of the album, with the understanding that the record exists and is ready, but cover art, etc and the release date may change. The date into the future as stated previously is just a placeholder until the final date is decided upon. I was given the response that this is a credible listing and would not have occured without a completed record waiting in the wings.

Sounded good to me. Don't know if this info helps, but it's fun to finally have some positivity here.

Exactly like some of us suspected.? Some company has requested that page on Amazon.? Do you know if a company has to pay Amazon to put up that page?

i don`t think so. if universal told amazon to list chinese democracy, then both, universal and amazon benefit from the sales

hrm...

when i search for 'chinese democracy' on amazon, it goes directly to the page for welcome to the jungle...  with the same ASIN that was previously listed for chinese democracy....  I think maybe amazon made a mistake when they posted WTTJ and have since corrected the mistake

or am i missing something?  can anyone confirm and provide a link for the chinese democracy page?

EDIT:  but it seems to be working now!  I searched again for 'chinese democracy' and it went to the ch. demo. page!  2 minnutes ago i searched (several times) and refreshed and it went to WTTJ page....  something funny is going on here.

EDIT2:  and now it's going back to WTTJ again....  is this happening to anyone else?

It is possible Amazon has since corrected this by replacing Chinese Democracy with Welcome to the Jungle. However, with a retailer the size of Amazon the content correction may have not been changed on all of there servers. I am guesing they have 10+ plus front end servers for that site and a content change may take a while especially in the middle of the day.

The weird thing is,

for welcome to the jungle I get ASIN: B000CCBC6M

and for chinese democracy I got ASIN: B000CCBC6W (and now i'm getting this same asin for WTTJ also).....

it's strange there are 2 ASIN numbers, only the B000CCBC6W is changing.

try searching for both and see what u get

There are two pages displaying CD one is permanently CD, the other seems to alternate between CD/WTTJ.

I think they're (GNR/Geffen/whoever) trying to keep a lid on it. ?A release date, cover art, and track listing on Amazon would lead to...

Chinese Democracy on P2Ps (Kazaa/Limewire/whatever).

KoRn's new album is due out next Tuesday, but most fans already have it.

Well we could save the Amazon.com website once it has reach number one to our harddrives (just in case), and then inform the media about this. Is this a world record already? Whatever, call the press agencies, MTV, music mags, radio stations EVERY SINGLE MOTHERFUCKER WE KNOW.
