Hello Mysteron, long time no see Smiley what do you mean exactly? That we will receive responses to the original questions when the time is right? or thet an oportunity will be givin to us for something like this at a later date, but not right now?

Personally I don't think it would be a good idea to ask him personal questions, nor questions about the failed 2002 tour.

If this goes ahead how about this question.

Were you angry when you found out about the IRS leak to the Eddie Trunk Radio show? Can you tell us the names of the other songs on that demo CD?

When is the right time Mysteron?

I really do not know. Sorry

I didn't. When GN'R was first played on the BBC on as part of the Heavy Metal Heaven Series (hosted by Elvira) I was stoked. Even back in the old days we got more info than this.

I would hope that a 43yr old man would not be so immature as to get a kick out of not answering a few questions.

And I would hope you aren't so immature as to blatantly disregard when GNR played on Ed Sullivan. That was like, where were you when Kennedy got shot.

Singin' tu-lur-a-lei-oh...

« Reply #29 on: December 01, 2005, 06:27:04 PM »

Those questions are horrible. They read like something I would see in Heat.

1) How are you?
2) What new music are you currently listening to and what was the last CD you bought?
3) What's the worst hit song you've heard in the last ten years?
4) Of all contemporary singers, rock, pop, even country, who is the one you'd like to duet with?
5) What do you think of your bandmembers solo music and have you been to any of their shows?
6) What's the thing you enjoy the most doing during the day?
7)What are your thoughts on having Arnold Schwarzenegger as your governor?
Has your impression of the internet changed over the past few years or do you still consider it a garbage can?
9) What makes you laugh?
10) What are your wishes for the future, and do you have any information or comments you would like to share with your fans?

At the very least, the questions need to be re-worded.

Due to the way they were put together, there is clearly no structure to the thing, and it reads like it was put together by an eight year old.

What's the worst song you've heard in the last ten years?

What's the last CD you bought? W' th' fuck?

How about a blanket question, such as 'What are you feelings towards contemporary music? Do you feel that it has gone forwards, backwards...?' When Axl does (or should that be did?) do interviews, it's clear that he likes to talk. So what's the point of giving him a question with a one sentance answer? I mean, what's his favourite thing to do? Make a sandwich, go for walks...What's the best you were hoping for? What do you actually do these days when you're not in the studio would lead, I have no doubt, to much more satisfying avenues...

I would be interested in his sense of humour though.... ok? hihi? rofl

I just feel that if the board were to put together an interview like this...

That it should be done differently to before. It's not a fucking Saturday morning phone in with a pop star, which is how it reads.

I don't think that everybody should have a say; ie. put it to a vote, popularity wins, majority rules, O can you say what a fucking mess? Certainly everybody is not equal when it comes to working out how, what could be possibly be our only chance at getting Axl to answer some questions for us, should be put together.

I'm just saying...Oh, I don't know.

Bah! I'm off back to the Jungle...

Up to this point, it really didn't make any difference if Mysteron was here or not. He doesn't add much to the discussions and from what I've read, we got a lot more out of a normal fan writing a normal e-mail to a normal band member rather than listening on some hush-hush puppy who indicates to be in the know and therefor gets a special insider treatment by some.

But I judge people by what they DO, not what others say about them, and so far Mysteron is wasting everyone's time, yet so many believe him. Well what do you believe? He talks, but there is nothing he ever says. I think we'd have way better chances to actually get a response or at least some kind of answer if we would ask some band members to foward something to Axl. Maybe Dizzy or Richard, I understand they can't do wonders, but they appear to be quite fan friendly and are sure far more legit than Mysteron.

I got more info out of Richard's e-mails to the fans than I got out of two years having Mysteron on this board. If you want to talk to the band, then do it. Talk to the band. You wanna interview Axl? Go ahead, request an interview - last I heard his manager's name is not Mysteron! I'm sure if Jarmo would request an interview he would get one in no time, or at least whenever Axl feels the time is right.

And let me say one more thing, those "nice and easy don't wanna steal your time" questions suck! Don't be afraid to be a little more intense - once you are at it. If he doesn't want to answer, he will not even answer those simple questions. And if he wants to answer, it might be a good idea to compose questions that leave a few more options open for him to share whatever he feels like sharing. What I'm saying is if I could talk to the guy who wrote "Estranged", I sure would not ask him about Arnie or other (!) people's music for fucks sake!

To give you an idea, here's the questions I've send out to Richard Fortus some time ago, and I really hope he gets around to answer them. If he doesn't well at least I tried, nothing to lose only to gain.

I'm not journalist, it sure could be done a lot better, but that's something I would ask and that's how I would ask. Feel free to tell me how much my way too long questions suck, but I think questions like that serve both the band and us fans a lot more than that stupid stuff you want to foward to Axl.

# 1: Since the band's last sign of life in form of a press release regarding
Buckethead's departure, some members of GN'R remained silent, while others
devoted their energy and creativity to other projects. As much as we enjoyed
those projects, the silence was rather painful, because unlike some of the
individual members, the band as a whole does not seem to communicate with
its fans at all. Due to that lack of interaction, it always comes down to
stupid internet rumours and the same questions over and over again. And
that's just as annoying for the fans as it must be annoying for the band. If
you can't give us a reason for the silence, could you please give us a
little update about what happened in GN'R during the past two years and what
the band is up to at the moment?

# 2: After being on the road with Nena, what's more likely to happen -
Richard Fortus recording a solo album or Richard Fortus sharing all guitar
parts in GN'R with Robin Finck, now that Buckethead is gone? Did you
re-record his parts or will they stay on the album?

# 3: The press bashes you guys as "hired guns" regardless of how well you
clicked with each other on stage during the last tour, but the fans are just
honestly concerned about the mood and chemistry in the band. Considering
some band members' quite obvious frustration about the album still not being
out yet, after all the work you've put into it - do you guys still handle
this baby and treat each other like friends or more like business partners on a
solely professional level?

# 4: When people think of the current GN'R, they usually think that Axl
dominates everyone and everything rather than seing it as a real band where
everyone get to contribute his ideas. If you can't speak for the rest of the
band, what is it that you are adding to the sum of parts that make GN'R? Did
you write any material for the new album?

# 5: The songwriting and musicianship in GN'R today display a progression,
focus and maturity that the old band might have never accomplished. While
old time fans often feared the band would head towards a more industrial and
experimental direction as heard on "Oh My God", the band sounds modern in
"Madagascar", but on the other hand doesn't sacrifice a rather traditional
approach and charme in "The Blues". Now that the "I.R.S." demo gave us a
brief outlook on the harder rocking new material, the confusion is perfect
and those 'Nine Inch Nails meets Led Zeppelin' comparisms don't seem
to be that appropriate anymore. So what is it that inspires the band and how
would you describe that musical journey you are going to take us on with
"Chinese Democracy"?

I feel the same way.  Not bashing the guy at all but I don't believe he, or the elusive Johan, have anymore legit connection than we do.

Ok, RnT tried this was back in May of 2004, so all credit goes to him for this idea, but whats the concensus on trying again? 18 months on I think its fair game to try once more. Here's the original list of questions Mysteron agreed he would pass on:

The 10 questions I'll post

We may want to update the questions given all thats happened (or not) since way back. And naturally we need some help in getting the questions to Merck.

Personally I don't like the question about Arnie, think its a little cheesy.

These questions give new meaning to the term "throwing softballs". Do you work at Sp1at? This is just like Sp1at's 'Whats your favorite color?' line of questioning. If he cant answer the tough questions, dont give him the satisfaction of ignoring your "questions".

These questions made me laugh when I first read them. What's the point of posting them again? We act like (and these questions really show it) Axl would be insane. Maybe we're right. In this case he won't answer or his answer won't mean shit. Maybe we're wrong. In this case Axl'll be so fucked up why we acted like he'd be insane that he won't answer.

Wake up. There is no way he'll answer. Ask him real questions not like 'What makes you laugh?' etc. Like Brain said they can talk about anything music related and nothing personal related. (BTW they haven't said anything informative about the music.) Do you think you cannot bother Axl with CD-related questions? Why would it fuckin' bother him? At least some people still care...

mysteron`s answer would`ve counted if this was a real interview with questions regarding CD. but where`s the point in needing the right time to answer some dumbass questions???   the answers wouldn`t provide any real information. it was just a sign, that axl`s actually alive Undecided
