I met one of Izzy's cousins the other day.

I haven't posted here in awhile, but I thought I'd share another GN'R-related story.

I work in a library and a young lady and her son came in the other day to get a new card. Anyway, the name Isbell popped up on the screen and I said, "Ok, I have to ask you this... are you related to Izzy from Guns N' Roses?" Her eyes got wide and she smiled and said, "Yes, Jeff is my cousin."

No real news other than she said the last time she talked to him, which was a little while ago, he was thinking about buying a house in Lafayette again so he could be close to his two sisters who still live here. She also said she used to go to Izzy's big fenced-off house back in the day... the house where they used to shoot off machine guns. Ha ha.

I said, "I should look and see if Axl ever had a library card" and she kinda joked and said, "Yeah, right." Though, she immediately said how intelligent and nice "Bill" is and that he liked to read a lot. Perhaps the thought of Axl in the library is what made her laugh... though, Fonzie eventually got a library card.

Anyway, she was SUPER nice and seemed glad to talk about her cousin.

She seemed pretty legit. Around here, it's kind of an accepted fact that all the Isbells are the same family and related to Izzy.

She also knew of a particular little cafe (she used to work there) that Izzy eats at when he's in town... I know this is true because a friend of mine worked there when Izzy came in a couple of years ago.

Yes, I live in Lafayette.

I posted a picture of Axl's childhood home a few months ago. Someone had PMed me the address and it turned out to be literally two blocks from where I lived at the time, so I went over and snapped a picture. Someone said it looked the same as the pictures that were in a book(?) about Axl.

I also write for an online video game magazine that is owned by a guy in town and he was high school friends with Izzy.
