Yeah...Green Day. I've seen them 4 times. First time in 91 with a crowd of 400.
"80" and "words I might have ate" are also great songs. I'm not too keen with welcome To Paradise ( never been)
However, I'm more into 1,039...slappy hours. I once was a fustrated teenager so I defintely relate. Going to Pasalacua(sp?), Only of You and "What do you want him" are amongst my favs.

ok excuse me for my ignorance, but i thought greenday was a band made up of 3 people.
i just saw them on lettermen, and there was a second guitarist, who also did the solo for american idiot.
whats going on?........or am i just an idiot who never noticed that there were 4 people in the band.

Ha, I thought that wa pretty funny. I saw them live recently, and Billy Joe goes "We're the Green Day trio" and there's this second guitarist standing about 2 feet away from him...

Steven's drumming made the band; he made a big musical difference. His sense of swing was the push and pull that gave those songs their feel, afterwards, nothing worked.

I have never heard anything of green days before dookie but I am a fan. I am thinking of checking out the early shit now on account of how highly it is spoken of in this thread.

Just picked up the new Green Day album "American Idiot'. Have listened to twice now and so far I think it sounds killer - huge production and some of the catchiest stuff I've heard from them since 'Dookie'. I reckon Billie Joe Armstrong is an under-rated singer/songwriter

it is a masterpiece. There is NO filler at all and the message and story conveyed through the rock opera is great.

I have been meaning to pick it up. I heard boulevard of broken dreams, american idiot, and jesus of suburbia on the radio and loved all of them. JOS sounds like classic who. I am glad to hear the rest of the album may be as good.

GREEN DAY RULE! me and my 2 best friends have just found out now that we are going to see them early next year... the album rocks! i love 'east 12th street' (second part to 'Homecoming) the best!!! oooh and 'rock n roll girlfriend' rules!! who'd have thought a drummer could sing... then again there is dave grohl... anyways... i'll not get off topic
blvd of broken dreams comes out on 22nd november so expect a video shortly....
that's all from me!!! BYEEEEEE
EDIT: Jeez... reading that makes me realise how childish i sound when i use too many exclamation marks and words like 'rule'

this is a great fucking album. I picked it up today and it is the best thing to come along in a while. I have always liked green day, never been a die hard, but anyone who hears this has to be impressed by what they have done with this record.

I'm defintely impressed?
I own all the Green Day albums & been a fan since 1990. While the last three albums didn't do it for me ( a couple of good sons here and there), this one has caught me off guard. I thought the first single was promising, but I wasn't expecting this. " Jesus of Suberbia" is pretentious, amazing. The album has an " Abbey Road" sort of vibe throughout.
It's definitely one of the best albums of the year.
I highly recommend this album. whether you are a fan or not, you should own this.

Cool! I watched their AOL Session thing a few times, and Boulevard of Broken dreams should crack the top 40. I swear the music quaility on this album sounded high. I've only heard 4 songs so far and those were live.
I hated Green Day so much before this. They had a couple decent songs I liked but this album just sounds different. I don't know what it is... but I'm getting this album.
Go Green Day!
