IRISH BY BIRTH, CORK BY THE GRACE OF GOD

« on: November 12, 2005, 04:36:41 PM »

Ill put it in here to be safe. But the question is because the last few weeks felt down and crappy about myself and didnt think i could do anything about it. AND then was listening to yesterdays and the line"Somethings could be BETTER  if we'd only LET THEM BE."

Just really helped me for some reason made me realise that only i could change things and no one else.

Anybody else have this happen to them and what song was it or just GNRs music in general.

I tell ya what Nu Gunner.? You described aA LOT of what AFD did for me back in '90 and '91.
And it did it for me again NOW! Due to a rugged seperation with my ex ol' lady of 9 years and recent economic developments.? For instance, I personally always loved the last words from ROCKET QUEEN. "All I ever wanted was for you to know that I cared"....etc! beer

To many esteem helpin' moments in GnR tunes for to even summize.

Right on man......  GnR has helped a lot of people through rugged crap.  That's why despite the Chinese Democracy release stuff.... no one really cares.  They are a timeless band.

My sentiments exactly.  I wish the ol' group was back together..... but wish in one hand and crap in the other and see wich one fills faster...LOL.

The original GnR are a fortunate group of people. NO ONE HAS DIED!

I thought the same of the old Black sabbath.  Hell the world is dangerous enough without flying around in jets everday and what with the drug use and boozin' the old band members really are fortunate to even still be around.

They'll get around to doing a reunion show but I sure hope it's within' the next 1 to 5 years.

I know that Duff and Slash have pissed off Axl.  But true kinships run a hell of alot deeper than money.

Anyhow it was Axl and Iz that started their road to success.  I'm willing to bet that Izzy's departure way "back in the day" was the smartest thing he could have done.  It made him look suspect - BUT- sometimes it's smarter to quit a job than to get fired. Just so you can come home later.  I'll bargain that if Iz and Ax could reconcile the others would follow suit. I know that sounds along way off but strangers theings have happened... like frogs falling from the sky! beer

A good solid reunion is what GnR needs.

Well my young GnR brother...... (speaking of GnR music/lyrics that provide solace). All we need is a little (or maybe a lotta) patience! beer

Damn straight man.... I'm listening to Reckless Life on a total loop -- sippin' a beer and feelin' fine.
See, GnR is applicable in everday life, any day and everyday.

That line in It's So Easy: Why don't you just fuck off has really stuck with me, I get a Why don't you just fuck off moment all the time. Another thing that relly got my attention was the photo in the Greatest hits CD, where the band is looking at the camera except for Izzy, who has his head in his hands and is staring at the floor. I just thought "That's me!".

I totally understand IT'S SO EASY. That song also gave me more confidence and attitude.

GNR music has always help me, for instance there's this line that I like so much "if love is blind i'll guess I'd buy myself a cane" which always reminds to keep my feet grounded and that not give away everything at once.
Also patience it's one hell of a song that reminds as all to think before acting  ok
