Anyone else noticed the guy sitting high above the left side of the stage on 2002 tour. Whats his purpose there is he a videocrew guy or what. I think u can spot him in any new gnr show but if u look at the end of MSG the last show (after paradise city)right after axl runs off the camera zoom out n u can see the guy sitting in the "chair in the air" move his leg so theres no doubt about it that theres somebody there.

Sometimes at shows I've seen lighting people sit above the stage. I think they were operating spotlights or something.

Yeah I think there's light people above the stage at every indoor concert.  Sometimes they will sit above the drummer and shine out.  Other times they will be above the first 10 rows and shine down on the band.  It's pretty cool watching them climb up into their spots.  They all come out with hard hats on and one guy holds the rope on the bottom and the rest have to climb up it while it's wobbling all over. 

All I know is that it would have been a hell of a sight being up there during the Philly riot, looking down on pandemonium while you're suspended 30 feet up in the air.

hell, you tried to sound funny but this is for real this time: while Axl sings patience in Tokyo '92 you can see a rare lighting ball(so very little) that seems to go above the public slowly, it?s very hard n? weird to notice, I honestly say I don?t think Geffen n?
