Recently slash had played with bon scott, he has been playing with others at camp freddy bb kings and now jamming with queen who are doing quite an important tour.. I think he is very underrated but highly appreciated by other rock/metal giants in the field..

Slash is well respected.. Anyone that says he is not an amazing guitarist honestly doesn't have a clue.... I recently bought a Gn'R DVD from Middleton NY 88 I believe... I showed the Slash solo to a couple friends that play and they were blown away.. It is the blues jam thing they used to do but this one was completely out of line..... I should try and get it up for download... He was so into it and then started blasting into Your Crazy after but Axl killed the moment by yelling out his name and then said to play Sweet Child O' Mine.....

I agree that he's "still tops and adored".  It seems like a lot of musicians and industry people have a lot of respect for him.  Even people like Jimmy Page and Les Paul go to see him when they can, from things I've read.  That says a lot.  Me personally, I think he's one of the top guitarists of all time.  And he seems like a really cool guy.  But, that's just me.

Hes great, i love it when he guests or has guests, hes just a great lead guitarist.

One thing which comes to my mind though, when you watch him with GNR, hes does some huge solos (god father type etc). But he  doesnt do that with VR, cant say its age cause if les paul can still play and hes 90 something, slash is 40.

Slash does still do solo spots at shows, he did a couple when I saw VR this year in Australia, they just aren't as drawn out like when he played with GN'R.

And without having a dig at Axl, I think Slash used to solo allot in GN'R because Axl was backstage changing into his next stage costume or dealing with his inner demons.

Slash is definitely one of the greatest of all time. Do you guys remember that issue of Rolling Stone that had the top 25 guitarists? Slash didn't make their list. I haven't bought a RS issue since.

you know that never bothered me.. I look at things like the king of pedophiles, er I mean pop he has the cream of the crop to choose from to work guitars for him and he first chose eddie van halen (before slash's time) and then later chose slash to work on his album.. Even had him onstage at the vmas for him and his 30th ann... The man is a living legend that accomplished so much and he just turned 40... Look at the shit the man did with gnr when he was like 20-21...

Slash in my book is without a doubt the best guitar player  since afd has existed

Yeah, he's truly a legend. He's our generation's Jimi Hendrix. I will always respect Slash. The guy has extreme talent, and it cant be denied. I hate how some of the people who hate VR say Slash sucks now. Its hypocritical. He left a permanent mark on GNR. Anything Axl does, people will wonder how great it could have been if Slash was on it. Imagine The Blues with a Slash solo.

Naturally, any GNR fan is going to have respect and adoration for Slash - I really hope the next VR album has more soloing from Slash.

..He's our generation's Jimi Hendrix.

No offense James, but I think our generations Joe Perry is a better analogy..

I'd take that too.. Both are great guitar players.. Could have said our generations evh too.. All I have to say is either way out of all the bands that have come and gone how many guitar players are still so known ? or at least from gnr's era.. of course there are a few but who really knows where they are and they most likely aren't working with legends or being seen by them either
