To learn more about why Izzy left gnR, there are plenty of articles on Izzy's fansite where he addresses that specific issue. But to summarize it, he was sick of touring and wanted to play simple rock n roll. No orchestra, no 15 back up singers, etc. he thought the illusion albums were overproduced and the end result was he could barely hear his guitar parts on the finished product.

vasoline, you took the words right out of my mouth.
Definitely the most pointless thread in the history of the net.
It should have been locked when people started saying The Blues was about Izzy.

Axl did beg izzy to stay many times before but the guy said he had to leave the band in 1991 so anyway izzy didn't hear anyone just to go away while GNR had to face the press around the world to explain 'bout it, that situation almost destroyed GNR those creepy moments

Man you are fucking impossible to understand. First you go on about how the Blues is about Izzy and how him and Axl are grieving soul mates, now you say Izzy was trying to steal Axl/GnR's spotlight almost 5 years ago to promote his solo album? Um no...Izzy has tried to distance himself from all things GnR since he quit for christ's sake, he's an accomplished solo artist, he doesnt need a former bandmate's publicity to spread the word about his own album. Axl/GnR questions are innevitable to be asked of Izzy just as they are with Slash and Duff, the only difference is Izzy is extremely neutral when it comes to the bands demise and really isnt gunna sugarcoat his interepretation for Axl's sake or your's AxlRoseVen

Ive kept quiet during this ridiculous thread, Ive enjoyed watching half of you make complete jackasses out of yourselves with your stupid comments but that is possibly the stupidest thing I have ever read.
How can you say Izzy was trying to promote River through GNR's big publicity? Exactly what publicity is this?
In 1998 Izzy released 117 Degrees
In 1999 Izzy released Ride On
In 2001 Izzy released River
In 2002 Izzy released On Down The Road
He was putting out one album every year or so, it had fuck all to do with GNR. He was making albums and distributing them.
Izzy Stradlin even DROPPED ALL PROMOTION for the 117 Degrees album because every fucking prick like you only cared about his GNR days, the fact he took drugs.... Izzy couldnt give a shit about GNR.
As for Izzy begging Axl to let him re-join GNR again, what the fuck? You are all saying Izzy is now poor... where do you think the "Pretty Tied Up" line came from 'I just found a million dollars, that someone forgot'. Izzy and his accountant actually misplaced a cheque for $1,000,000 - thats how fucking rich the guy is!

AxlRoseVen, what an amazing Interview, honestly after that, -- and if All that is true -- Its sad that we give as much attention to Axl Rose as we do... And Certainly Izzy is the man of Guns n Roses.

Although I enjoy your enthusiasm, I don't think many fans are going to be waiting in line to purchase GHII on the first day......but just a guess.
I think we flock to Axl not just because of his tragic flaws, the voice, or the talent because he is so intriguing and mysterious, we simply must know what direction he is taking his project (if ever) ever second of everyday. Your right in my opinion, that Izzy was and will always be the man of GnR, he's just so down to Earth and uneffected by past glory that we cant analyze and perhaps relate to him as much as Axl.

Izzy and his accountant actually misplaced a cheque for $1,000,000 - thats how fucking rich the guy is!
? ? do ya remember that Canadian guy(Corey Haim)who was a Hollywood Star? Well? he was richer than every GNR member cuz he broke into the Film industry in 1984 as a young child caught up in a family war in the hit movie Firstborn (1984) (when the gnr members had no 1 US$ to eat) The following year he starred in the TV movie _A Time To Live (1985) (TV), for which he received an award, and Silver Bullet (1985). Lucas(1986) , in which he starred alongside Charlie Sheen showed his ability, but was not a big hit.
In 1987 he had a breakthrough when he played one of the major roles in 'Joel Schumachers' ?s Lost Boys (1987),
? but his output during the nineties was disappointing. He hopes to turn his career around with two newly finished movies without Malice (2000) and? Universal Groove (2001) and there is a chance of a role in the much-rumoured ?Lost Boys? sequel. BUT TODAY the guy has no a cheap car, either he doesn't have a' American visa to work decently over there while the show business wasted him like dirty underclothesa long long time,
so someday Izzy might roam around L.A city tryin? to find a piece of bread to eat just cuz :? ?
? The show business uses you n? kicks you out when you have nothing to show on TV,...(since 1998) when izzy produced their albums he understood he just wasted his money n' time cuz Axl isn't by his side anymore, this is so hard to understand then?

What the fuck
I am officially boycotting this thread.
Are you just saying they are still freinds? WTF
Izzy has had his share of Fame and Fortune. He's done with it. He's not in VR, he's not coming back to GnR. End of story. Axl has very little contact with him anymore (according to your interview there). They are not freinds anymore other than in the most casual sense of the word.

Although Corey isn?t Yankee he ruled the Hollywood industry, he was richer than Izzy before GNR got reach n' famous, Corey could be richer than ex GNR members to date but the guy has no money to give n' waste right now all cuz of the show business always needs another cute face to sell out (THIS IS THE POINT) so can you analyze that Izzy shall be there TOO someday if the guy doesn't produce a good album soon?
...C?mon mates, it?s time for Izzy to forgive Axl all at once! or this situation might destroy Straddling sooner or later
