here i found out a' old report 'bout Izzy in 1998, it said the guy left GNR just cuz his ex-mates were outta control usin' a lot of drugs n' alcohol in 1991 but anyway you can read it here    :

I think Axl still retains an absurd amount of repect towards Izzy on a personal level, as well as on a musical level. They went to bloody school together after all and made the big leagues together side by side

I think you're wrong about that, he might be living low-profile but he will always be remembered as a great songwriter who had the balls to leave GN'R at the peak of their success and has made really great solo albums after that. Not in the spotlight but as the silent genius so to speak.
