Hey, the world tour starts tonight in Dublin.....I shall be going down along with quite a few guiness...any other gunners going?? I dont think Ive ever been to the opening night of any tour but I believe the 1st and last dates are best due to the unknown factor...and with Alice that could mean anything!! beer Once I sober up I may report if anyone is interested. Cheers.

I think this album rocks. I think The Song That Didn't Rhyme is brilliant. The fact that most of the lyrics actually rhyme, make it just that more clever.

Yeah, I remember reading a quote by Bob Dylan saying Alice is one of the if not the most underrated lyric writers of all time.

HADDAM, Conn. -- Alice the albino python had a little too much to eat for dinner.

Just hours before its owner, rocker Alice Cooper, was to take the stage at the careerbuilder.com Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, the 8-foot-long snake ate a live rat and then mistakenly swallowed a 12-by-14 inch heating pad, wires and all, left in its cage by mistake.

Before Saturday night's show, Cooper's roadies saw the snake's unusually large bulge and called at-risk snake helper Alison Sloan, who directed Alice to Higganum veterinarian Richard Jacobs.

Jacobs performed emergency surgery on the python for two hours this week, carefully slicing it open and removing the heating pad.

"It was absolutely an emergency," Sloan told The Hartford Courant on Thursday, noting the wires could have ruptured Alice's intestines or other organs with fatal results. "She's a very lucky snake."

Sloan, director and owner of Ashleigh's Rain Forest in Essex, allowed Cooper to borrow a yellow anaconda for Saturday's show to replace the python, which undulates onstage with Cooper during his performances.

Alice the snake was resting comfortably at Jacob's office on Thursday.

The operation involved sedating the snake and inserting a tube to help it breathe during surgery. Jacobs said he cut a 5-inch-long incision along a row of scales and maneuvered the heating pad out.

"That's an outrageous X-ray," Jacobs said Thursday, looking at the pre-op picture of the snake that showed the wires and contacts from the heating pad - plus a rodent. "It's probably the most astonishing X-ray I've taken in my career."

Cooper was unavailable for comment. Sloan said the rocker thanked her for her help and paid $1,000 for the surgery. He is also allowing Alice to semi-retire to Sloan's rescue and rehab.

"Alice Cooper stepped up to pay the vet bill and let Alice live in our rain forest," Sloan said.

Sloan said Cooper might call on Alice to make stage appearances during future performances in the Northeast.

Yep, Alice still puts on a great show. He's currently been writing and recording the follow-up to "Eyes". If it can surpass "Eyes" it would blow away my expectations!

I fucking LOVE Alice Cooper. I was just listening to "A fistful of alice" all day at work (featuring Slash on 3 songs). I have been a fan of his since I was a little kid. He's an amazing song writer, that gets overlooked alot because of all of the theatrics (which he invented-not KISS). His voice still sounds great on newer stuff too. Alot of stuff he did in the 80's I dind't care for because I thought he was trying to stick with the times too much but anything from the alice cooper band and his solo stuff in the 70's is amazing and his more recent albums have been awesome. The last Temptation is one of those albums you listen to and just can't comprehend how it didn't sell ten million copies or you never hear anyone talk about it. Ya wanna just force it on everyone you have ever met so it's appreciated.

According to a post at SickthingsUK, ALICE COOPER will premiere another track, "Steal That Car", from his upcoming album, "Dirty Diamonds", Friday night (April 29) on his radio show, "Nights with Alice Cooper". Last week, Cooper previewed the song "Woman of Mass Distraction", which was said to be ? as Alice promised ? a slice of AC/DC-like rock and roll. Cooper has previously said that there is a lot of diversity on the new album, with some songs not sounding like anything you would expect from Alice Cooper.

"Dirty Diamonds" is tentatively scheduled for release this summer through an as-yet-undisclosed label. The CD, which is said to be a continuation of the more organic approach found on Cooper's last effort, "The Eyes of Alice Cooper", was overseen by Steve Lindsey, who co-produced Cooper's 2004 duet with rapper XZIBIT, "Stand" (off the official Olympics Games album, "Unity") and has worked with Elton John, Luther Vandross and Leonard Cohen.

Alice Cooper's a rock n roll legend, up there with Ozzy and the likes, although he doesn't get enough credit.
