Hey, I wasn't sure where at in the forum to ask this; however, since most of you know who I am (the one with the VMA rehersals) I thought I might just ask here.
Anyways, I was wondering how much money the actual microphone that Axl used for the New Years HOB show was worth.
I have a friend who has it and might be willing to give it up.
Now I don't care about everyone's opinion as to whether I am telling the truth or not nor do I care for people demanding a picture...etc...
All I really care about is how much you think that it might be worth.
I mean he might not even give it up.  Its just a question.
thanks!

It's just impossible to put a price tag on an item of that sort. It's up to what each individual is willing to pay to own it.  It could be not much just like it could go up the roof. Personnally, I know I wouldn't give a cent. And that's coming from a big collector.

Yeah to be honest id actually pay more for the VMA rehearsals as id get more out of that! You had any luck finding anyone with what your looking for so that this can finally get out into the open? Also does Axl actually sing during the rehearsals?

Without any way to prove that is the actual mic Axl used, it is practically worthless. I'm pretty familiar with memorabilia collecting, and can tell you in that world the burden of proof is definitely on the seller. No one is going to pay anything for an item based exclusively on the word of a total stranger who is trying to sell it.

If it would be accompanied by proof, you could probably put it in the $60-80 range.

It won't be shared because this is not the spirit of this community.

As for the mic, I have seen once in a London shop (that was years ago) the mic Axl used at the Wembley Stadium in 1991. It was framed and all and was very expensive. But GN'R was still very popular back then. Right now only die hard collectors would try to get that. Pandora is the expert and if even she is not willing to pay for that, I don't know.

Not sure how he got the mic - Axl didn't throw his mic into the crowd after the HOB show.  He put it right back on the stand.  He did however throw down his ear piece box that was on his pants and it bounced off the stage and into the crowd; you can hear Axl then say "whoever caught that can keep it" at the end of the show.

I was there in the very front. He threw the mic down right in the middle of the stage & it bounced off the ground & into the crowd. It was about 5 feet away from me, the security was tryin to get it back & axl grabbed tommys mic & told security they can keep it.

Threads like these, depress the fuck outta me.

We have so many good and honest members of the GN'R fan community. And yet, there are alot of punks who want attention, because they want to feel like they have power.

But then again, I honestly don't know why the poster who bumped this thread after 5 years felt like they needed to.  Shocked

Who cares about the VMAS or even the show in Las Vegas at the house of blues... why do u wanna see Axl in his worst shape ever... his voice was terrible in 2001/2002...

I dont get how people get mad about it, so he has the VMAS... im sure u can get a lot of pussy with that pff... fucking loser!

Dont be as much of a loser as he is... probably the VMAS is the only thing goin on in his life for years now... who cares

Jarmo, if you're reading this answer, u should take out one negative point on my karma just for that! That was an incredible answer lol  hihi
