« Reply #6 on: October 17, 2005, 05:23:12 AM »

Well David Bowie a couple of years back, started to doing these shows where he performed 2 albums from his career which complimented each other -  back to back on the same night.

So I'd hope they wouldn't just do a hits package. But also do a limited amount of these types of shows - the tickets would be like gold dust.

So the 1st night would be Appetite & Lies (order ur tickets now lol)

2nd night Illusions 1 & 2

3rd night Spaghetti plus other covers and rarities that the fans at least know about eg Shadow of your love, whole lotta rosie, sympathy ect

I would die happy seeing that, that would Rock!

Axl, Tommy, Dizzy, Robin, Richard, Brain & Chris.

Whatever songs they want to play would be fine by me, but preferably with loads of songs from the new album.

Come on guys and gals! It was a wicked ride for everyone who has been a fan for many years, but that band has gone! They left remember. Axl has built something new that he beleives in. Lets just forget about the past. I for one am glad that it happened because I believe that Axl wants the bands style, image and music to evolve more and even though I think Contraband is a great listen I dont think it was groundbreaking. I think Axl will bring us something that is gonna really make people stand up and say "fuck me this is amazing"

Yeah, if you forget about the past then GNR is nothing. Its all based on the past. Axl also realizes this. He lives off the past, and the last tour was basically a rehash of the past. Some of the new stuff is great, but dont tell people to forget about the past.

Jarmo, you dont think its ridiculous to tell people to forget about the past of GNR? 99.999% of GNR consists of the past. Without the past there would be no 'new' GNR, and there wouldn't be any fans either.

No, it's his opinion. He'd like to see a show based on new material. So what?

You don't think it's ridiculous to wish that all the members kept living in the past (80s/90s)?  Tongue

Jarmo, I actually agree with him about wanting to hear new material. I just thought the 'forget the past' comment was absurd. I never said I wished all the members would keep living in the past. In fact, I've said the exact opposite. Remembering the past and living in it are two different things.

but dont tell people to forget about the past.

Woah there back up Jimmy.

I ent telling anyone to forget about the past history of Guns n Roses. I wouldnt even dream of it. (a) its not my place too and (b) Not a week goes past where I dont watch an old bootleg dvd of a guns gig and my cd pretty much always has guns in it. Guns n Roses are a massive part of my life the new and old version of the band. What I am saying is; forget about the old bands line up for fucks sake! This bullshit seems to come every week with threads like "oh lets see the band reunite" or this one "one last show" it is unbelieveable that people still rattle on about it. Slash and Duff left for gods sake a long time ago and Matt was just a twat anyway. Yeh I was gutted that Izzy left, but it is the past and we are on the verge of Axl and the new guys doing their thing. Lets talk about that, not about something thats never gonna happen!
