The Beatles are the number 1 to date just cuz they were made up by the fucking show business! Slash is the best guitar player ever but breaking news today says : ?no one will play the guitar like Lennon n? George?, it?s fair then ? so don?t wait to see GNR in the Guinness world records cuz they won't anyway!

In the book I have from a few years ago there were a bunch of GNR mentions.
Most Impressive Chart Entry for UYI 1 and 2 debuting at #1 & 2 in the same week. Most succesful James Bond song. For the cover of Live and Let Die. I think AFD was there for best selling hard rock debut too.
But yeah... Hootie outsold AFD.

Yeah, last time I checked, Boston's 1977 debut has sold around 27 million copies worldwide. How much did this Hootie album sell?

Didn't they also hold a "longest rock concert" record at least for a while?
I recall Axl or someone saying they claimed the record from Led Zep. I also faintly recall that it's been broken now. Can't remember by who though.

Gn'R's longest concert was 4 hours, so if thats an unbeaten record thats pretty sweet Ill have to go check my old Guiness books.

No, Cracked Rear View may have shipped 16 million units (in the U.S.) but has only actually sold 12 million, while Appetite For Destruction has definately sold more than 17.5 million units. The 15x platinum certification for Appetite is outdated. Appetite has outsold that Hootie record by about 5 million units or so. (again, in the U.S.)

Maybe the true band to do that is: GNR!

GNR dont have the record for best selling debut album anymore. Hootie and the Blowfish have it. At least they did in the late 90's. I guess GNR might have got it back since the Blowfish CD doesn't sell as well now as AFD.
The overal best selling debut album comes from Alanis Morisettes, by far... 'Jagged Little Pill' has sold over 30 million copies. Source: wikipedia Didn't they also hold a "longest rock concert" record at least for a while?

Can't be. As JLP wasn't Alanis' debut album. She released some teenypoppercrap earlier. I don't even wanna hear it. I do love JLP though! Shows how reliable wikipedia is... EDIT: Source: http://www.geocities.com/alanisdisco/albums.html

I consider its better that Gnr, is not part of the Guiness Records, because it has turned into freak situations...
