its from one of the girls tank tops at merch.com. i think it looks pretty bad ass but they never really used it. i wonder why.

I only guessing but .... maybe that was made up by somebody other than an authorized GNR merchanise company?
I don't think an official logo would have that "&" sign in the red lettering part.? I think that red lettering part would've used the "N" if it was an authorized logo.

Of course it is.

The poster promoting the London show in 2002 also had the "&" in the logo.

My guess is this is just a variation on the actual logo, the reddish / orange one. That happens with a lot of bands. There's an official logo, and then there are different versions of it that are used for merchandise.

Yes, it is official, and there are other new shirts that use the ampersand.
