agreed, i never thought he fit in with the rest of the band.  such a douche.  he looked like a douche in gnr with his swiss cheeese hair, and now he looks like a creepy ol perv.

So true.  In the 80's, big hair was cool.  I mean, when GnR first started, Axl had his hair all teased up & make-up on.  Looks pretty strange now.  And there was a picture of Duff (very early GnR promo pic) where he was in some fluffed up punk hair and a tie.   

And to call Matt a douche is unfair.  Just because he's not Steven.  He was in GnR longer than Steven, probably played more live shows, and recorded more with them.  Everyone is different in their opinions, I know, but I consider him to be THE drummer for GnR (earlier GnR).  Much better than Steven.

Nope. Of course I can only speak for myself, but I don't hold Steven in a very high regard either; Matt replacing Steven isn't the reason I dislike the guy. Through interviews etc. I know Matt pretty much as well as anyone who doesn't actually know him personally, and based on everything I've got from him throughout the years, I've formed an opinion. He seems to be a bit of a dork.

No, you are not the only one.? I love Sorum, as well.? He's a great drummer, IMO.? So what if he's a dork?? A lot of people could be described as that.? ?Well, as far as some of his personal statements and attitudes, he irritates me, because he does seem to have that "rock star" mentality of sex and groupies.? actually, Matt was only in GNR longer on a very technical standpoint.  Steven was in GNR from 1985-1990 and played consistently during the first four years.  Matt may have been employed by the band until 1997, but the band was inactive from July 1993 on (notwithstanding one cover song they recorded).  So Steven actually played for longer and more than likely more live shows than Sorum.  And since Steven actually recorded rough demos of the UYI songs, Steven also recorded more with GNR.  Matt Sorum is okay but he wasn't much more than a touring drummer.
