i dont know why so many hate def leppard here, i love a lot of their music.

People always rag on them, but every show I go to is sold out or damn near sold out.

what sorta like people rag on Bon Jovi..

I'm not a huge fan of def's newer stuff but the old stuff is great.

DL used to be good.

Bon Jovi has always sucked beyond belief.

Now that is a matter of opinion sir...

Oh c'mon, dont deny the truth hihi

 hihi

I will deny it all day long .

One listen to 'Crush' and you'll be cured of this in no time! hihi

 hihi

That is pretty close to be the truth ..

So has anyone heard what the setlist will be like this tour? Is it another Greatest Hits setlist? For me I hope so because If I go I've never seen them before and wanna hear the hits alongside 20th Century Boy and No Matter What...Kim Mitchell is with them in Toronto instead of Foreigner...Ticket prices are under 100 bucks so I may check it out...What did anyone think of them on the last tour who might of seen them?...Again though anyone heard what the setlist will be like?

they were sublime when i saw them

There is so much energy in their performance - it sounds like a cliche but they are doing it because they love touring, and it really comes through

The set list is fairly consistent, i'm sure SLC will be able to straighten me out, but shows almost always include

Promises
Rock of ages
Make love like a man
Photograph
Lets get rocked
Hysteria
Love bites
Pour some sugar on me
Animal

+ Foolin and Bringing on the Heartbreak for US shows (but never UK shows Cry)

The Def Leppard site posts the set list for each show they play - maybe they still have the recent ones up

Sounds about right. I'm really lousy about remembering setlists. The first Tampa show they played "Women" which was unfucking real man, totally awesome. They also played "Gods of War" which was probably their best song of the night. I had not heard it at any of the concerts before or since. It drew a lot of complaints on their message board the next day as people thought it was anti-war (this was two years back.)

They always seem to pull the older songs out midway through the set and it really gets people pumped, just one after the other after the other. So much fun. The Tampa show I saw before last was overwhelmingly loud, people were going absolutely bonkers in that arena.

I saw them twice last year.  He sounded just fine to me.  2 great shows.  Journey was good too.

Def Leppard are a great band and they are great people individually. If you get a chance to see them, don't miss out.

But really, what's up with DL trying to sound like Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi? What happened to their balls?

I think maybe the fact that they no longer have Steve Clark , might have
something to do with it. I think Def Leppard is one of those groups that
like to mature a little more each album ,a lot of their biggest fans are now in their
late 30s , early 40s , so I think they are just trying to please the "old timers"!

I hope they head back to the UK in '07

i found slang in the house.

so i put it on, its nowhere near as bad as everyone makes out, its typical def leppard just with asian and psychadelic influences instead

i've tried repeatedly to listen to it, but always end up going for another Def Leppard album instead...

Its not bad as such, but its trying so hard to be something other than hair metal....without really thinking about what it wants to be instead

Alot of it sounds like werid noises...for the sake of it

Imagine if Leppard had gone for straight ahead rock'n roll at this point - or imagine Leppard trying grunge? Having lost a band member, you'd have thought that would have given them all the motivation they'd need for a darker sound

Retro Activ shows a band very capable of doing straight ahead rock with sledgehammer riffs and a more serious orientation - they should have continued in that direction
