Seriously, go buy Pet Sounds. Download it if you must. If you think they're "cheesy," this album will blow you away.

Then buy Smile by Brian Wilson, which was their 40-year project which fell apart when he had a nervous breakdown brought on by his drug use and tension in the band - the other members didn't like his musical direction, they refused to perform the songs, the band broke apart and he became a recluse for decades.

Sound familiar?

I don't like all their stuff, nor do I like all of the Beatles'.

It doesn't mean I don't appreciate just how good their musicianship is.  But I guess they don't have stupid haircuts and funny names so they're not cool.

There are some bands we both like, such as Agalloch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-7DaBOYk84, Symphony X, Atheist and Death. Then there are also tons of bands he listens to and I've never even heard of. Since you asked.

i find it funny him criticising motley crue, when they practically were the birth of it...they had satanic lyrics in some songs before most bands.

Like Jarmo said, maybe you should check out Venom. Additionally, your assumption of death metal containing satanic lyrics by default is dead wrong. Come think of it, I may own about two or three CD's altogether with satanic "content"

Also, whats so good about death metal, load of distorted guitars, double pedals, random man screaming and grunting bout how he and his cult need to burn the churches down in finland, blah blah....

1) You don't know what death metal is. You're confusing it with black metal.
2) You are confusing Finland with Norway and its black metal scene in the early 90s (heh, were you even born yet?).
3) You've heard some death/black metal, and now you're generalizing it to match an entire genre. You don't know what you're talking about.

not really....just check out half the stupid bands from finland....

half of them dont even really believe in satan, just a marketing gimmic.

izzy, we cant like any of these 80s bands anymore, cause they are lame really, its all about the image, not the music clearly....

as for the Leppard site - go for it! Leppard need a good home (waits for all the jokes - 'er yeah, the retirement home!', '1, Bargain Basement Road')

which album is it off?

Not sure really - all I know is that it made their Best Of (the original single disc version), which is their only album I own. I've listened to others, but I only own the Best Of.
