Guys.
Did any1 in the UK watch Rock School last night Friday 9.30pm on channel 4? it's a show starring Gene Simmons from KISS and he's going into a traditional English Boarding School where no one knows of metal/rock. they all love classical music and stuff. Gene wants to make a six member rock n roll band.
so far they haven't quite understood the concept of rock n roll; u need attitude+ability to sing at all to be a frontman NOT just a good voice. it's really entertaining.
Any1 else see it?

It would be interesting if they were taught shred metal instead, Yngwie style!
As a project, they could do cool stuff like play Classical music with modern electric guitars and keyboards. Some of Mozart's stuff could easily pass for power metal...

They're disciplined boarding school kids who enjoy classical. With Gene to inspire them, they could be shredding in a few months. Practice, discipline, and enjoyment. They would learn fast.

this annoyed me a bit as well. how about gene going to a school/simliar where there were kids who were totally into rock who wanted this chance. What is the point in going to some monk-esque classical place where they most likely wont follow the rock path after this?? And supporting Motorhead - I mean - does Lemmy know this??? how much ahs Gene had to pay him off with hookers to let this happen!!
Although - i am kind of glad that the kid josh got singled out for lead singer - I hated watching him gettting picked on.

The second season of GENE SIMMONS' TV series Rock School kicked off in the UK, on Channel 4. Instead of 7 half hours shows, this time the viewers are treated on 4 one hour shows. And whereas in series one, Gene had to form a rock group out of well spoken youngsters from a private school, in the new series Gene's working with a class from a comprehensive school. The school is Kirkley Community High School in Lowestoft, Suffolk, UK. This time around, many in the selected group are socalled 'problem students' and consider Lowestoft as a boring, dead end town with no real future for themselves. Another interesting detail is that Gene's chauffeur in the series in a way is (or was) a bigger pop star in the UK than Gene, as the driver used to be in a band that had a number one hit back in the '80's - whereas KISS never had a number 1 hit in the UK
I saw the first episode on sunday this series looks set to be much more entertaining i actually quite enjoyed it for starters they actually seem to like rock music.....
....well sort of
