Richards responses, are always real , I have had email contact with him for some time, but I am more interested in things that are goin on with him like when he is doin gigs and stuff, here in NYC, Ive met and talked to him, and I dont feel like beatin the GNR thing with him, I asked a few questions , got answers, and I know there is no point in harassing , I like to take pics at his shows, send them to him for his board, and I love his guitar work and how he performs, when GNR tour again, like in 2002, I'll be there, and just happy that my fav band is back, and knowin that up there are a few members I have gotten to talk to and have a drink with , and are really down to earth real people, like any one of us.

Does Richard Fortus remind anyone else of Ronnie Wood from the stones?? I saw them live Monday and Ronnie pretty much had the same over enthusiasm in his playing style with definately similar on stage body language when crucifying some material..not to mention the same haircut and clothes..I think it's cool if thats the image Richard has set for himself a la Izzy and Keith Richards.

I think there is some similarity, but Richard is a better guitarist, since old Ron hasn't heard about scales and doesn't care about them. (And it reminds me of another guitarist...)

 love Richard!  love

Richard is great!  I'll be so happy when everything starts in motion for them... and sincerely wish them the best.  They really deserve to reap the benefits and rewards of all they've invested in the band.  Seems also Richard is looking forward to when us fans can enjoy.   beer

Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

« Reply #24 on: September 30, 2005, 09:39:07 AM »

For me Richard is a mix between Izzy, Ron Wood and...Slash. Yes, Slash.
In this new band, Fortus is the closest one to Slash concerning the guitar playing. I have always said this guy will become a world class guitar player once CD comes out and once the band tours the World. He's got everything to succeed: the talent, the energy, the feeling, a great guitar sound and...the style. That guy has style, he has some class onstage. Have you heard his own demos? Check "dead again" and all his western demos, it kicks ass. He is THE ONLY new guitarist in this band who is able to make me "forget" Slash onstage.

thanks conny - good to read that - a nice reply and sounded heartfelt too.
I know people must be frustrated - but it will be worth it!!!  I am SURE of it.

The fact that i saw gn'r in 2002 is something i thought would never happen - so as long as I have to wait for their new music - I will.

Thank you for putting that up Conny. I've liked Richard since the first time I saw him. There were obvious comparisons to Izzy right away, but he's definitely not a toss off of another person. Richard is Richard. I'm probably one of the few that thinks it's cool that he isn't too uptight to tour with Nena or do sessions with that boy band. Because he's obviously got his stripes in real rock. I'm listening to Jesse Malin right now. I think that's more Richard's thing, but he's not going to live like a religious zealot only doing that one thing. My favorite musical touch with GNR is the lick he added to Rocket Queen. Richard and Tommy are the two guys I look at as evidence that this bird may actually fly someday.

dramaqueen, I've also wondered what will happen to this site after the CD hysteria is over. I know that there will be alot of people here in the before and after CD release. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone's review of the album. I dont think a tour will keep as much interest as the wait for CD. Alot of people will probably "move on". Maybe this site will go back to people remembering the good old days, but not many will stick around for that. Over the past 12 years of waiting, this has been the best GNR site. It would be a shame for it to die off.

Thats what i was TRYING to say above but i couldnt say it as fluently as you.  What will become of HTGTH??  I know I will be staying, mainly beause the whole atmosphere has become part of me or somthing.  Lots of really great people with things in common to me.  And its not as if we ONLY talk about GNR... we have the Jungle!!  Smiley

But we shall see... We shall see.....

"We could, want, could, want, maybe, could" THEN PLEASE DO. If they understands our "frustration", why don't they tell what they've been doing past "3" years, except sending "hang on there" e-mails?
Writing some information doesn't have to mean Chinise Democracy release date. Even something little like "Axl doesn't look like a rapper anymore" that can't hurt them, but what a package of information it is for GN'R fans.
("we're finishing the cd" doesn't count as information anymore)
